Really disappointed with hair and makeup trial

I think you should just find someone else or do it yourself. There would be no point in paying someone to do something you are unhappy with on your special day.

I feel like if you were unhappy with most of it, I wouldn't try to make it work with this HMUA. I would start looking for someone new. If you had saw more potential then I would say to communicate with the artist to make it work better for you.

Unfortunately I’m only 3 weeks from my wedding and already paid for it. I feel like I have to make it work...

I felt the same way with my MUA. Because she asked for a down payment and we did the trial. Making me have no option if I didn’t like how she does my hair and make up. Deposit are not refundable.

Eat the money it looks horrible . Just because they have a licence doesn't mean squat .

With respect to the hair, she said that it will look more polished and fuller on the day of. Since we were trying several styles, she didn't set the hair or use hairspray. She said that will make a big difference. and if we move a few pins, I think I could be happy with the hair.

For the makeup, I was concerned with the look throughout and pointed out that I didn't like the color on the lower lash line, she lightened it. I didn't like the liner and she tried to fix it. But it was still bad. I emailed the owner and asked her to call me and see what we can do.

Can you afford to lose the money and hire someone else? As long as the hair is more polished that day, it'll be beautiful. I agree with you about under the eyes. The concealer makes it look cakey. Did they have you sign a contract?

I did sign a contract and since the trial was so close to the wedding, already made the final payment. I’m also worried about getting someone else on short notice

I wish I knew what to say. I’m in the same exact predicament. Not sure what to do.

I hope the owner has some resolution for you. Is there another artist with the company whom you could have a trial with? Maybe they would be much better since you have already paid there.

Honestly, while you DO look beautiful, they didn’t even get close to what you wanted. I think you should go to a different person, it’s unacceptable that after 4 tries they couldn’t get close to the look...Get out your inner wedding diva!! You can just politely let them know that you want to look around to find the best look, but that you’ll keep them in mind. Find a makeup artist that makes you feel GORGEOUS!

Just saw that you signed the contract.., honestly I think it’s worth canceling it still if you find someone else. Shop around. It’s worth it. I would just be upfront that while you like their skills, the look isn’t what you want.

If you can't change the person, be very clear about what you want. Why pay for something you aren't happy with on one of the most important days of your life.? Be honest and tell her what you didn't like.

She offered to do a second trial. I explained that I am concerned about my options should I still not be happy. It wasn’t that I just disliked the style, I was also disappointed in the quality of the work. We’ll see what happens.

I think you should just eat the money and find someone else. That doesn't look professional at all.
