Reasonable florist

Melissa, on June 27, 2019 at 1:18 PM Posted in Connecticut Planning 0 4
Hello all, I’m wondering if any fellow CT brides have found any reasonable florists in CT. I’m having a hard time finding a vendor that’s not super pricey. I’ll be getting married in Trumbull, CT.

What’s your budget/what range do you hope to stay in, if you don’t mind me asking?

I'm using 'Events by Amy'. Shes based out of the Hartford area. My mom knew her from when she was in school, so she recommended me to her. I find her prices on the lower side of average, but judging by pictures, her work looks pretty good

I’m not entirely sure what my budget should be lol I’ve never had to buy flowers for a wedding so I don’t know how much to expect to pay. And what shops are over charging me. I may sound naive but just really have no idea.

I totally know what you mean, I felt the same way when I was doing flowers and nearly had a heart attack at some of the quotes I was getting. Things are definitely more expensive up here. 😣 I get so sick thinking about the cost of my flowers, but I’m fortunate enough that my FMIL absolutely loves flowers and they were super important to her so she’s covering the cost.
These are some quotes I’ve gotten. I won’t provide the one I booked with so I can spare you the heart attack haha.

Floral Designs by Nancy: I was quoted just a little over $5,000. That was for 20ish tables, 6 bouquets, boutonnières, parents, ceremony, etc. I would say with this florist you should really have a good idea of what you like/want. I know people who have used her and absolutely loved her work. I, on the other hand, didn’t feel as inspired or like she was getting my vision when I met with her.

Flowers by Danielle: I believe she’s actually near the Trumbull area, if I remember correctly. She has a $2,500 minimum for peak wedding season & weekends. She gave me a quote of $1,950 which included 15 tables and 6 bouquets so you would have to them factor in the groomsmen/parents/ceremony/etc., but I feel like she’s more on the “affordable” end and her flowers are beautiful!

Flowers by Malu: She was my original first choice and I was so ready to meet with her, but my FMIL insisted we meet with the one we booked regardless of cost so we just went in that direction instead. Malu’s work is absolutely gorgeous! A lot of people I know have been/are using her. I’m not sure what her actual cost would be, but I do believe she is on the more “affordable” side. She is also a total sweetheart.

Keep in mind prices also vary depending on what type of flowers you want and how much you need. For further reference, I was looking at roses/orchids/calla lily and some greenery. Our bridal party consists of 12 people total then parents/grandparents and our wedding is 200+ so we’ll have a good amount of tables and our ceremony and reception space is two different locations.
Hope this helps a bit! Best of luck!
