Reception at a recreation center?

Yasmin, on August 5, 2017 at 3:43 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

Did any of you married ladies have their reception at a recreation center? Can I see photos!?

Or any brides-to-be doing their reception at a recreation center?

The prices are unbelievably cheap but I'm afraid what people might think...that it's very cheap to have a reception there...but I want to decorate it enough to where it doesn't look like a plain rec room. Smiley smile I just need some inspiration and advice !!!

You should allow vendors to comment, they would certainly have advice! Also I would do some research about decor because in the long run it may not be cost effective. I got a quote to do these lights in the rafters for $500 ...

I think it would be fine once your decor is up :-) I honestly don't think anyone will care. I, as a guest, personally wouldn't.

I am and I'm always afraid to tell people where its at. I always tell them its really nice, which it is. It was remodeled 5 years ago and i didnt hear anything about it until I booked it. My dads high school reunion is there, people have been there for work events, and other weddings. Here is a picture from Google.

A lot will really depend on what the center looks like, but I wouldn't judge any couple who had their reception in one. It's way more important to have an amazing time in an okay place than an okay time in an amazing place. If you can cut costs on the room, that's a reasonable area to do that.

I'm having my reception at a community center and honestly once it's decorated you can't tell it's a community center. It has everything I need and came in under my budget so it left me room to do other things for my wedding that are more important.
