Reception Ceiling Decorations

STB Mrs Van Blargan, on August 6, 2010 at 2:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I was originally thinking of hanging a huge pomander in the middle of the dance floor... but it might be alittle pricey... so, im considering new options.. Its a low ceiling and a small room.. here is some pics. Give me your ideas, please!!! http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?demandPrefix=12&sku=3/2545&mode=Searching&erec=0&D=red lanterns&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=all&requestURI=processProductsCatalog&N=0&Ntt=red lanterns&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&sd=Wedding Party Lanterns - Red 10"

How about hanging tulle and Christmas lights? Or China balls?

We arent allowed to tape or use thumb tacks on the ceiling or walls. We are only allowed to hang things off of the metal things on the ceiling

You shouldn't need to tack or tape anything you hang from the ceiling. It looks like your venue has drop ceilings, so it's just a question of tucking everything in.

Check out something called a Hang-Mate. Google that name to see the video. I saw these at a wedding reception that I attended, and I talked my reception hall into investing in these for future receptions. You can hang things using a simple pole. The Hang-Mates attach to those metal crossbars that you mentioned, and they have a line that retracts and extends within each Hang-Mate to help you hang things. They are SO fast and hang everything! Good Luck!
