Reception Centerpiece dilemma

I'm having a tough time choosing my centerpieces for the reception. I like the concept of tall centerpieces, however, my wallet is not comfortable. I'm having a tough time choosing my centerpieces for the reception. I like the concept of tall centerpieces, however, my wallet is not comfortable. The average price for a tall floral centerpiece is $100 . I'm not a big flower person. I visited a florist yesterday and they had a tall vase filled with fluorescent beads and crystals hanging on gold branches. It really caught my eye. I'm getting married at the end of March and was wondering if something like this would be appropriate. The florist is renting the centerpieces for $100 each. I think the price is still high but I was much more impressed with the look rather than having fresh flowers..so the advice I'm looking for is (1) am I paying too much for rented centerpieces and (2) would you consider branches a winter item? Thanks!

The lighting is horrible but here is a pic for the general idea. I had to trim the branches down so that it would fit in my house. This is a smaller one. I had varying sized vases. Also at the wedding I had floralytes in the vase to illuminate it. The waterbeads have become discolored due to the spray paint but werent like this during the reception...

Try shopping Hobby Lobby for flowers during their 50% off floral promotion. They tend to have that once a month or so.

That is a bit much, but then you aren't stuck with a million centerpieces afterwards..

@Devyn I just feel that if I am renting the centerpieces they should not cost as much as buying them. I am just trying to cut some corners but these centerpieces are becoming a nightmare. I know what I want but I don't want to pay an outrageous price for them!

Went to re-visit my venue this weekend and by looking at it again I need tall centerpieces over the low ones...it is just so much more elegant looking!

Hello! Our wedding color theme was Ivory and burgundy with accents of gold. It worked out perfect with our venue’s look.

I am not a big fan of short centerpieces either but tall ones are more expensive as I found out; so I made all the centerpieces myself because I didn't want to spend ridiculous amounts on them. It turned out so beautiful in our cozy venue in Orlando Downtown.

I have 8 tall (30") candelabra centerpieces with real touch silk flowers already attached.

And 12 flocking organza overlays (72" square) in ivory.

Check out our CL ad where everything is written in detail. Here's the link: http://orlando.craigslist.org/for/2747631766.html

I attached a few pics here as well.

I think you could definitely make them cheaper if you do it yourself. If you don't care about the branches shape you can grab them from actual nature and spray paint them gold with glitter also!

Branches can be for any season. Spring with flowers, summer with greenery, fall with leaves and red pieces, winter with silvery crystals and beads. I mean, it's easy to do them however you like. Smiley smile

I think $100 is way too high for rentals. I also suggest shopping around or DIY.

I am having a beach themed wedding. I was going to do a fishbowl with sand shells and candles as centerpieces, but we realized that we need tall center pieces to fill the room. Does anyone have any ideas on tall beach center pieces?

Finally did it..I booked our florist..I am super excited...I decided to go with half tall and half low this way I still get what I want while keeping the cost down. Another weight lifted off my shoulders..what a relief!
