For those of you with a more DIY space, what are you doing about cleaning up after the reception? I'm having a hard time finding a company in my area that specializes in post-event/wedding clean up. Our catering company is going to handle most of the clean up but we are responsible for linens and whatever other decorations we bring. A place I worked for in the past would hire cleaning people off of Craigslist. Is that sketchy though?? There's also a FB group local to my area where people post odd jobs. I would just really prefer a professional though. What are you guys doing about cleaning up?

Maybe a maid company would do it like molly maids or another service in your area.

You could also check it a youth group in your area. They are always looking for fund raisers. You could pay them to do the clean up....they would have adults with them to chaperon.

Ask your DOC if they know anyone, or even the venue. Most times I've seen where close family & bridal party helps to clean up at the end of the night.

Once everyone leaves, we'll change our clothes put on some tunes, and clean it up.

If ask the venue if they have any recommendations, there may be comapies they have worked with in the past

We are lucky our venue does all the clean up, we just have to remove personal items or decor so our wedding party and families who are planning on staying until the end will just take it home since we don't have enough hands space.

This would include like 1 easel welcome sign, extra desserts that will be put into containers, Guest Table stuff (card box, guest book, pens etc).

Anything we don't want the venue will toss it.

The caterer will take care of cleaning up the food but we have until the next day to finish clearing out the decorations. We plan on inviting the bridal party over to the venue the next morning to assist with cleaning then offering brunch and bloody's (or mimosa's, whatever you're into).

We don't have much clean up - only our stuff from getting ready and minimal decorations. Our DOC will gather things up and give them to my mom.

My venue has a cleaning deposit which I will probably tell them I plan to forfeit to cover anything the caterer isn't covering. I just want to check with them first to make sure it's ok--I also plan to tip for this!

We take what we want and the venue cleans up the rest. But if you are not doing it your self look on Yelp or angies list.

Don't make your BP clean up. If they even show up to do so, they'll be side eyeing you forever.

Our DOC took care of that for us. Set up and tear down were probably the most important aspects for a DOC to do, it honestly made everything so much easier!
