Reception Decorating

Mallory, on September 9, 2019 at 1:49 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
We found a venue that we both REALLY REALLY love and see our selves getting married in. It's just perfect.

But... we are limited on decorating. FH is fine with it, but I love decorating. We can't hang anything on the walls or windows because it's the original work and materials before the building was remodeled (Hotel Vandivort, Springfield). So they don't to risk ruining it, which is perfectly understandable. I can't drape anything due to the only thing on the ceiling is the chandeliers. But the room gives its own beauty with the texture of the window sills, lighting, we can control how high or low we want the ceiling and dim the lights whenever.

I'm here to get some help from others on how i can decorate without just a centerpiece? The theme is celestial.

Uplighting can make any space look great, and a beautiful space look incredible.

Uplighting, like KiwiDerbyBride said is really nice. Decorating the cake, gift and escort card tables could be fun.

Agreed with the pipe and drape and uplighting - you could definitely get some cool night-sky type of effects. You could also consider doing some freestanding backdrops behind your table, the cake table, etc. And you could use pedestals to hold up other décor - lanterns, etc.

I can’t hang things from the ceilings or walls either. You can still use uplighting, they sell battery powered ones even if you don’t want to rent them. It’ll fill the walls with -something-, you can also use backdrops with stands for important tables like cake or guest book. Get BIG ones! Fill the whole wall! You can put more detail in your tables with fun linens or plates. You can even do balloons if you want, I’ve seen lovely ones with hanging garland!
You’re only limited by your imagination. Think of how much easier it’ll be to decorate, no ladders required! ❤️

Rent the “starry night” lights from RentMyWedding and uplights against the wall. Not very expensive, free shipping.
