Hi there! Absorbing too much and now on overload... Trying to plan the reception, keeping in mind that entertainment is a GOOD idea... some of our guests may not want to dance, and we'd love to have them stay and party with those who do. So... looking at entertainment ideas for the cocktail hour as well as throughout the evening.

Photo booth keeps coming up in search... feels so overdone. Maybe its just the 'flavor of the month'.... ??

Magician, fortune teller, hypnotist, henna tattooist...??

My favorite so far... but that's because it's my favorite thing to do (besides spend quality time with my hunny) and that is gaming tables set up by/near the bar yes... poker, 21, craps... etc.

Our theme is 'country vintage' and has a real western feel to it. I thought we could do the bar area up as a 'Saloon'. Ok, is that totally hokey pokey? I welcome ideas, because like I said, I'm on overload and dog training and watching paint dry seems entertaining and different now!

Thanks @centerpiece for good words of advice. My FH hates the caricature artist idea (and the cost) I'll keep thinking about this. No deposits have been made yet.

For the people who don't dance, set up a socializing area where they can still see everything, but not be deafened by the dance music. DH & I don't dance and would rather chat with people we don't get to see often. But, sometimes it is so noisy that talking is impossible.

Alcohol will absolutely be a centerpiece. My main problem came when I started reading about expectations instead of just going with the tried and true.

We're probably going to set up something in the corner near the bar; I like the deck of cards idea. Keep it simple, alcohol and music flowing.
