Reception Entrance wording "For the first time, Mr. and Mrs.......?

Nicole, on February 10, 2014 at 7:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I have been racking my brain, but I cant solve this one. I am keeping my last name when I get married. How do we do our grand entrance? The DJ cant say "For the first time, Mr. and Mrs. X" because that's not my last name. But I really want a grand entrance and I want to be Mr. and Mrs. Would it sound weird to say "Mr. X and Mrs. Y"? I wouldn't hesitate at all about it except that some people in his family are really old fashioned and I don't want to open the discussion of why didn't I take his name in the middle of the reception. Ideas?

Maybe "for the first time as man and wife -his first name- and -your first name-"

"Introducing for the first time as husband and wife ..." or "Introducing for the first time as a married couple ..."

You wouldn't be Mrs. Y, though; You'd still be Ms. Y. If you're not taking your fiance's last name, then I'd suggest using first and last names. So, "Introducing for the first time as husband and wife, John Smith and Jane Doe!"

And then ENJOY ALL THE MAIL addressed to Jane Smith -.- I can't wait.

Thanks for all the help! I don't know why I hadn't thought to add "The newly married..." It makes it easier. We will be "for the first time as husband and wife, Mark X and Nicole Y!" Yay! Problem solved
