Reception flip flops

Julie, on September 16, 2016 at 9:33 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 30

Any suggestions on where I can get flip flops in bulk for my guests at the reception for a good price?

Old Navy, but honestly most guests won't use them.

I did Old Navy during their $1 flip flop sale. I think it was in July. You have plenty of time so you could definitely wait until next July. You definitely have to get there early though- they sell out quick! I also searched Craigslist a lot for leftovers from other brides.

My SIL also bought old navy ones for their reception, but I wanted to add that for them it was a huge success. Every pair they bought ended up getting used.

I bought ours in bulk from Lakeside collection and they were a huge hit, put 40 pairs in for a wedding of 120 people and came home with 1 pair!

I agree skip it. Every time I see this happen at weddings no one ever uses them because no one wants to give up their shoes. If you're set on it though either Dollar Tree or Old Navy

I'm curious about the logistics behind this... How do you know which sizes to buy?

I've never seen them used at the weddings I've gone to. Honestly I'd skip it and put that money elsewhere

Dollar tree I think sells them. I have only been to one wedding that has flip flops for guests and I thought it was the coolest idea! By the end of the night only a few pairs were left.

They also were a huge hit at my wedding. We bought 75 pairs and only had 10 pairs left.

I got 30 pairs at old navy during $1 sale and used coupons!! Woohoo savings. I know some guests will love them and some will say hell no, but figured I'd offer them either way!

I did old navy $1 sale too. I ordered 40 for a total of 60 women. The older women wont wear flip flops. I have a vegas wedding so i think folks will still take as keepsake for walking around in the casino later.

I say skip it. If people aren't smart enough to wear the right kind of shoes for dancing and mingling, then that's their fault. I would gladly put that money towards something else. #sorrynotsorry

My cousin got some at Old Navy. They had a lot of rain leading up to their wedding, so while they did lay down wood chips over the paths outside, they also told people that they would provide flip flops in case they didn't want to get their shoes muddy. My mom and I didn't use any at the wedding, but we did take some as favors, and I do think of the couple everytime I put them on! So that is a fun thing about them. If they're only $1 per pair, it doesn't have to add that much to your budget, and some people will appreciate them.

But my cousin only purchased one size, which only fit average women's feet. Given that they were there for mud more than for replacing heels on the dance floor, some men were looking forward to them too! So definitely do get a range of sizes.

Old Navy ... Actually sometimes they even are on sale this time of year online.

I think it's a know your audience thing. I've been to six weddings this year, 5 offered flip flops, at 3 they were a hit and at 2 no one touched them. And yes my FH jokes ever since we got engaged I pay attention to random stuff like that lol.
