Reception only invitation wording

Can anyone help with reception only wedding invitation wording? My FH and I are having a private ceremony and then a big reception to celebrate with everyone and I'm at a loss for wording on the invites. Thanks in advance.

The only thing i see as rude is to invite to the ceremony and not the reception. The other way around isn't a big deal. Many couples see the ceremony as a very private moment, and only want to share it with a small group but still want to have a big party! A friend of mine had a wedding in this amazing old church, the seating was about 20- so she couldn't invite all to the ceremony... she still had a big fancy country club reception that was amazing with even more guests... "shoulding" individuals for their choices is rude.

The legal process for getting married in our DW location is long and exhausting. We think it is rude and pointless to ask people to travel or otherwise celebrate us if they don't get to see the ceremony.

We wouldn't have a DW at all, but we are an international couple who live in a country that is not the country that either of our families live in (even a wedding with just parents and siblings involved three countries and transatlantic flights). We did what was easiest for the greatest number of people OTHER than ourselves.

Vicki, it’s not rude at all! More and more people
are doing this. I don’t want people I hardly know starring at me during a moment that should be so intimate and special. Keep your negative comments to yourself, to each it’s own.

Not everyone wants to profess their love in front of 300+ people. Some might want their exchange of vows to be as intimate as sex. Their family may still be hugely important to them and they might want to celebrate this milestone with everyone. There is not a one size fits all to weddings anymore.

Also, a lot of couples are paying for their own weddings and don't have hugely gross amounts of funds to support their entire family. A cake reception might be a way to celebrate with family and not break the bank.

Everyone needs to have a little more compassion and open up their minds to what might be the perfect fit for the couple who are actually getting married.
