Reception Table Centerpieces Can i use more than 1 jar/vase/etc? Opinions please!

Jessica, on June 19, 2019 at 4:16 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13
Hey guys, these are my centerpieces Ive made. I already intended on doing mismatched items at tables (I personally like that because it gives people something different to look at on different tables. Plus, I couldn't decide on which one I liked best).

Our reception will be outdoors in Charleston, SC. We will have a large tent as well. Im not doing a whole lot for decoration so I really want my centerpieces to stand out.

So, HERE IS MY QUESTION: Would it look ok to use more than 1 Mason Jar/ Milk Jar/etc in the center of the tables?

I think one jar by itself looks lonely and was considering doing a mason jar, a milk jar (both of those are pictured above) and maybe a small votive with a candle. How do y'all think that would look?

I initially panned on having rectangle tables and was going to spread the jars down the center, but I came across an AMAZING deal on tablecloths so we ended up going with 60" round tables instead.

My tablecloths are ivory and my table runners are mint green lace.

Side Note: The 'apricot' or 'orange' colored flowers in the 2nd picture are actually the exact same pink flowers in the first.
Our Colors are more of a color palette instead of just strictly 2 or 3 colors: Hunter Green, Mint Green, Blush pink, Dark Pink and ivory. Will also have a good bit of burlap.

Those are really pretty, but do seem quite large to have multiples on round tables. I would consider doing one, with some sort of scatter and maybe a candle. Or even a large one, and a smaller one.

Those are so cute! I think one vase would look lonely too. If you do more, stick with odd numbers. Like you said, 2 sizes of the vases and a votive would be 3 things and would look great! If you can do more than one votive try 3 so it keeps with the odd number thing.

    I liked what Danielle suggested
I did one single mason jar and had a table number frame along with some petals scattered around

Now that you say that i realize the mason jar one and the milk just one won't even fit together well. I forgot that those were the 1st 2 I made & that I forgot to cut the styrofoam balls in half before gluing them to the bars and adding flowers, so yes those are large, literally twice the size flowers wise as all the others I made. I think I will have to do a trial run to see what I like.
Also, FH has not shown much interest in the wedding stuff/ planning, hes pretty braid back and says "Baby, Im just happy for making me so whatever you want we'll do". But, when he saw the centerpieces I made he said "Those are nice but where will you put the little candles at?". At this point I had no intentions of using any candles and told him i hadn't planned on candles and he said I think candles on the table would be nice.

So, Im trying to incorporate candles somehow.... Lol I know that sounds silly but all I really want is for him, when its all said and done, to think I was stunning and that everything looked really nice/I did good planning our wedding. Not really concerned what anyone else thinks.
I will try to post a mock up with the smaller arrangements and you can tell me what you think then.

    2 vases (different sizes) + 1 votive = 3 items

    or 2 vases + 3 votives = 5 items

Keeping it in odd numbered groupings will make the display look more complete.

I think multiple vases of different colors/sizes look really nice together (obviously, since that is what I did lol)

The middle pic with empty vases was set up for us to mess around with in my kitchen, the ones with flowers are from my actual wedding.
