Reception Thank You Cards

Chelsea, on February 9, 2021 at 9:01 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

I'm pretty happy with how these turned out!

I just ordered a bulk pack of "thank you from the newlyweds" cards from Amazon and some dried lavender from a local lavender farm ($5 for around 200 stems), and polyester napkins from Tableclothsfactory. I think these will look super cute at my lavender and sage themed wedding at a botanical garden! They'll be sitting on silver charger plates.

Still need to practice my folding skills a bit, haha!

These look great! So these will be part of the place settings at your wedding reception? I’ve never seen thank you cards given at the wedding before.

This is beautiful! Super unique and simple -

I've looked on Etsy for my cards, never even thought of Amazon!! I'm sure the savings were great! And $5 for the lavender is killer!

I saw them at a wedding I went to last year and thought it was cute! Apparently folks also use them in seats at the ceremony in lieu of wedding programs (probably not a bad idea with the pandemic constantly changing wedding parties/proceedings). We'd planned to do this with menus, but we have to have our meal served cafeteria style due to COVID, so I thought these would be a sweet touch!

These are the ones I bought! It seems the price went up. I bought them when they were $4.99, so I spent less than $20. I like that they come already printed. They aren't personalized, but I think that's fine since we'll be mailing handwritten ones after the wedding anyway! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CZPXTLR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The napkins were 5 for $1.99 so I paid around $60. However, I can wash and sell them (along with my tablecloths/chargers/etc) after the event, so I consider that a fair investment!

I"m sorry this is not related but I'm looking into lavender and sage as my colors too. I have such a hard time finding things on pinterest, its usually the same pictures reposted. Is there anyway you can send me some pictures of your decorations and such? Or link to your pinterest board?

Hi Alyssa! I encountered the same sort of issues, unfortunately. I can share some of what I'm planning! I'm mainly working with lavender and baby's breath for my florals. I'm getting married in a botanical garden, so there's already going to be a lot going on with different garden displays.

I've included pics of our Save the Dates and Invitations.

When guests walk down the event lawn for the ceremony, there will be a pillar with a "Toss Lavender & Wishes for the Mr. & Mrs." (found it at a yardsale) with little bags of dried lavender. Guest will toss these as we exit the ceremony! The aisle will be lined with bundles of baby's breath and my flower girls will toss purple petals (I'm going to pick up a cheap bouquet from Kroger — lilies or whatever — a pick them apart the day before.

Bridesmaids are carrying lavender and baby's breath. I'm carrying the larger bouquet below; instead of purple stock, we're going to include dried and fresh lavender. Mom's are wearing shades of purple and bridesmaids are wearing sage! I'll have a lavender and baby's breath hair piece.

At the "cocktail" hour (we're not serving actual cocktails) there will be a lavender sangria! I bought a lavender simple syrup from my local lavender farm to mix with pinot grigio and fresca, and I'll include some sprigs in it with frozen blueberries and blackberries. The tables at cocktail hour will have little bud vases with dried lavender in them. We have a cardboard photo frame booth setup. I couldn't find a lavender one, but this one has purple and green florals. Our place cards will be mini succulents! Not really lavender, but still feels relevant haha!

At the reception, tables will have lavender/sage chiffon runners (alternating), and the centerpiece will be a mirror plate with three vases. The vases will have submerged baby's breath, but lavender buds will be sprinkled around them. And each plate with have the "thank you" note with a sprig of lavender. Our cake will be something like this — the Honey's mom's friend is baking our cake and made this one last year.

Not totally immersed in lavender, but I think it'll be enough to get the theme across! If you have any ideas, please share!

Ok first of all that cake is AMAZING!
Second, I have been thinking of this too. Esp as we are being really stern with our “no gifts” request. (Of course if we get gifts we will send thank you cards and be gracious!)
For us, this wedding is a bug celebration of both of us being surprised by love at middle age, and heartbreak that our friends and family supported is through. I wanted it to be an extra special thanks, if that makes sense.

Better... that cake is our wedding gift from that family friend! Priceless (but really saving us a ton).

I just bought generic ones from Amazon, but you can check out Etsy and other sites for personalized!

I've been looking at those napkins from tableclothsfactory. Do you like them? How's the quality? Is 17x17 big enough?

I am thinking about making something similar but with menu. I am not sure yet. But yours are super cute.

Yes, these are the 17x17! They aren’t “linen,” but they are nice for polyester. A few had some strings coming loose at the seams, but I just snipped those. I washed and dried them to get the creases out. I think they’ll work great! I think I’m going to order the tablecloths as well.
