Reception venue issues - How to address and when

Kathleen, on September 5, 2019 at 4:59 PM Posted in Married Life 0 6
My wedding was this past Saturday and we had some major and several minor issues with our venue both leading up to wedding day and on wedding day. When is the appropriate time to address those issues and concerns? Going into wedding day they knew the issues and concerns we had with them based on prior interactions and performance on their part and they didn’t disappoint in their ability to disappoint us. Even though they swore up and down they would do things as promised they didn’t (like steam the table cloths, have the correct alcohol, and not surreptitiously change the menu without informing me). While wedding day may have come and gone I feel the need to get an explanation as to why I didn’t get what I paid for when I spent $26K.

I would email the coordinator or manager of the venue ASAP regarding your concerns.

I'd do it as soon as possible. The longer you wait the more you risk of them just not dealing with you. I'd also leave reviews everywhere about your experience with them.

ASAP as previous posters said. Let them know you want to give them a chance to make it right before you leave your review (yelp, google, the knot, here).

I would draft an email (it may take a few days) and okay it with your husband to make sure he doesn't want to add or change anything, then send it. I'd CC everyone from the venue & your coordinator (if you had one) and any other vendors that had problems or caused problems. I would state you'd like to reach an amicable solution prior to you leaving reviews.

I would get a lawyer to discuss if you are trying to get anything back. Is there any way they are in breach of contract?

I would contact them ASAP and make sure you have a list of all of the things that weren’t correct. I would follow up with an email and give a date when you want this resolved. Have an idea of what you would like from then.
