Reception Venue

Mary, on April 3, 2019 at 8:14 PM Posted in New Hampshire Planning 0 5
Hey Guys,

Is anybody else having a hard time finding a reception venue in the MA/NH area?

Everything is soooo expensive. I’ve looked in RI & CT as well, so I’m not ruling those states out.

Im looking for a venue for 125-150 people. We have a budget of $8,000-10,000 for food & venue combined.

No barns/rustic look & no typical ballroom (we’ve been working in banquet halls for over 10 years so ballrooms aren’t that special anymore)

I feel like what we are asking for is impossible! Does anyone have any recommendations for venues or suggestions?

Thanks!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Mary! We’re happy to have you here Smiley smile

I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulting finding your venue.

Have you had a chance to look through the WeddingWire venue directory yet? You can filter the selections by venue type (leaving barn & farm wedding and banquet halls unticked), capacity, amenities, etc. The selection can also be narrowed down closer by filtering the city, or you can change the location completely.

    Boston Wedding Venues

    Concord Wedding Venues

Through their WeddingWire storefronts, you can reach out directly to venues you’re interested in and request pricing, browse the FAQs, read previous customer reviews and lots more.

I hope this is super helpful in your search!

Are you from New Hampshire, or will this be a destination wedding for you?

I feel your pain. We’re spending about that much for venue and food for only 60 people! Have you checked out the Granite Rose in Hampstead, NH? It’s part of Wedgwood weddings. It wasn’t for us, but it’s all inclusive pricing (except photographer is separate), so you may find a good deal there for 125-150 people. Might be too typical ballroom/banquet hall for you, but I thought it was fairly modern looking.

Also, would you be interested in a tent wedding? My brother got married at the Mile Away restaurant in Milford, NH and I believe they spent about $8,000 for around 100 people. That was several years ago though. The food was great and the service was amazing!

We also checked out the Victoria Inn Bed and Breakfast in Hampton, NH They have a pavilion out back that might fit your guest count. They’re food pricing was only like $30-40 a plate if I remember correctly.

I'm in the same boat! We've looked at rustic barns, hotels, banquet halls, tent venues, but it all ends up being the pretty much same. I thought I had a pretty good budget ($10k-$13k for 100-150 people), but we've basically decided to push our date back and increase our budget. New England weddings get expensive very quickly, unfortunately.

I had to think outside the box to find our venue. We're going to the Audubon Center in Auburn. It's not a typical wedding venue, but the grounds are beautiful!

We're getting married at Salvatore's at Riverwalk in Lawrence. It's right on the river and has a gorgeous brick wall in the function room. They also take care of catering since it's attached to a restaurant.
