Recession order??

Katie, on February 17, 2021 at 1:55 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
Did you guys have your flower girl or ring bearer in the recession? I’m wondering how to do it since they will be sitting during the ceremony? Should I have them go after the bridal party that’s standing but before the family that’s sitting? Or right after me and groom like the processional backwards?

They’re not typically in the recessional.

I’m having my flower girls sit with their parents after they walk down the aisle, so they will not be in the recessional.

We had two flower girls (my husband's nieces who were 5 & 7 at the time) and one ring bearer (my husband's nephew who was 3 at the time). All three are siblings and their parents asked if we would be okay with them bringing a babysitter with them. We were totally fine with it. The five year old and three year old went with the babysitter after they walked down the aisle and the seven year old sat with her parents so none of them participated in the recessional.

Hi Katie! If they're old enough and you want to include them, have them join the recessional after the bridal party (so you walk out first, then the bridal party, then the flower girls / ring bearers).

Although personally I think it's easier to have them focus on the processional, then sit with their parents for the ceremony and be done with their duties! ❤️
