I remember doing this years ago for an old co worker getting married and thought it was cute. I am helping my MOH organize an informal bridal brunch ( will be stated that gifts are not expected or needed) with some of my good friends and I love cooking and getting new recipes. I also remember for my co worker's shower we brought the dish we made along with the recipe. I kind of like that idea especially since so many of my friends have dietary restrictions or preferences. What are your thoughts? Of course there will still be food for others if they choose not to bring something as I know that is still proper hosting but in my circle a lot of my friends host informal parties that are bring something to share. I saw this idea here: https://www.punchbowl.com/p/recipe-shower

If you disagree please state so but please keep the comments respectful. Thank you in advance.

Oooooh that is cute about the gadget. I may just stick with providing the food but I do not want to encourage home gifts as we have lived together almost 5 years and we have everything. I would much rather eat lol.

Oooooh thanks. I see what the others are saying in terms of maybe not requiring a dish but maybe just bring a favorite recipe to write on a note card. Smiley smile

I did it where it was bring the dish to share at an old wedding shower I went to but I wanted to see what others thought. It might be better for me to provide the food and still ask for their favorite recipe. I am not asking for home gifts as we have everything. Thanks so much.
