Recognizing Mother

Taylor, on August 27, 2024 at 11:13 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 6

As a Bride, there are so many moments for the dad during the big day. Doing a first look, walking us down the isle, first dance, etc.

Have any of you done anything for your mother? I want to recognize her and make her feel loved and special for always being there for me.. I just can't decide what to do.

Any suggestions?!

That's so sweet, instead of doing a bouquet toss you can dedicate your bouquet to her, say a few words and a give it to her during the reception ( or if you want to keep your bouquet get her a dupe of it)

Has she been able to be part of the planning and shopping? Maybe a mother will chime in regarding what was most significant to her on her daughter's wedding day.

I actually asked her to make/put together my bouquet for me. I told her it would mean a lot and she’s excited! So I definitely either want her or I to keep it ☺️

I did a unity candle largely because it was something significant for my mom. (She still talks about how they were the first ones in their area to do one, over 50 years ago!) So she lit my side for that. She was also there both for the dress shopping and when I was putting the dress on. We have a very sweet picture from that! Finally, because I despise bouquet tosses, I presented my bouquet to her at the end of the night.

As a mother of 2 brides, I felt honored to be part of their dress shopping, addressing envelopes, helping with florals, seating charts, etc. My younger daughter insisted I walk with her and her dad down the aisle and I could not have been more touched (although unexpected). Honestly, moms do so many "behind the scenes" things. I don't know why dad's get the spotlight! 😀

Both my Father and Mother walked me down the aisle. I also designated her with a special corsage and bought her dress.
