Recommendations for a strapless bralette

Emily, on August 24, 2022 at 4:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Ladies:

As a petite woman, I have an issue with my wedding dress offering a peek when I bend or shift. I wanted to go braless, but I just don't think this is an option for me. The dress maker offered a bralette but I didn't like the look and thought it detracted from the beauty of the dress. Can anyone offer any suggestion, would it be tacky to go without a bra, or do you assume that no one other than FH would be close enough to view my limited goods?

You could buy “petals” (small stickies that cover your nipples) or nude silicone full bra cups with adhesives that stick to you. I used it for my engagement dress and when I went wedding dress shopping.

Great suggestion on the petals. Thx so much. I tried the silicone cups and didn't like how they looked or felt.

Could your seamstress bring in the neckline so there's not such a big gap? It seems like there's a lot of space that they ought to be able to bring in so it sits flush against your chest.

You could also try double sided fashion tape so the neckline stays in place and doesn't gap like that.

    Hi Paige:

Thx for the response. I'm exaggerating the gap slightly in the picture so that you see worst-case-scenario. The seamstress took it in as much as she could (she said). She said it was the best she could do - short of choosing another dress.

Get Goodlines boob tape. And have your seamstress alter the dress properly so there is no chance of a wardrobe malfunction. If your current seamstress will not comply, take the dress elsewhere.

TY Michelle. You’re the third person to tell me to get a new seamstress. I’m understanding better now the things I didn’t know to ask/demand before. She literally told me there was nothing more she could do and not to worry cuz “no one will look if I choose not to wear a bra. SMH

They can't bring that cleavage area in more I was going to suggest to use the cutlets to put there to help it. I hope that it all works out

Thx Monique. I’m going to call a new seamstress in the morning to see if she can offer a better fitting. If not, I like your idea. Em

Get a new seamstress, if you go to David's bridal they will alter even if the dress isn't from their store. You can use boob tape for light cover that'll last all day.

Girl: I’m like you and am small chested. I think the dress shop steered you to the wrong dress or the wrong size. Was the seamstress part of the Bridal Shop. If so, she should have been able to make the adjustments. If not, you should return to the bridal shop and complain. Trust me, guys will peek and the only guy that should be peeking is your husband.

Thanks Madison: I have an appointment with a new seamstress on Tuesday to see what she thinks. I did want to say that I exaggerated my pose in the picture as a worst case scenario but I get what you mean. Hopefully this will all be resolved.....maybe I'll become a C cup by Tuesday! lol
