Recycled Wedding Decor

FutureMrsArd, on October 19, 2017 at 10:47 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 44

My FH and I are on a very tight budget. We don't have the means to have a huge elaborate/expensive wedding. My sister mentioned that we could probably find some decor from other newlyweds who are trying to sell their wedding decor (who needs 14 vases after their wedding, right?!). Anyway, I thought this was a good idea, but I wasn't sure of good places to find these kinds of things. Has anyone done this? How did it work out for your wedding? Thanks!

Second Facebook groups. Also look at places like Goodwill, resale shops, second-hand stores. Sometimes they have multiples of things like vases, décor items that were picked up wholesale.

When it comes to decor, definitely think outside the box. Thrift stores are amazing when it comes to getting things like vases. I got a bunch of stuff at Goodwill for $.99 each. There are also a lot of online places that sell used wedding dresses that also sell used wedding decor. There is also one site that has really affordable decor called orientaltrading.com Best of luck!

Definitely Facebook groups! We have purchased gold chargers for less than 1$ a piece, a bunch of vases, and a couple other things already.

Remember the dollar store too.You can buy cylinder vases, candles etc If your local Dollar Tree doesn't have what you need you can order online by the case and pick up at your local store with free shipping.

www.searchtempest.com searches all Craigslst sites at one time . You can search using your zipcode to find things closest to you.

Yes, dollar store can be a resource as well. Also try Pinterest and search dollar store wedding decorations, you will be surprised at what you can create

My in-laws kept all the decorations from their daughters' weddings. We borrowed centerpieces and garlands from one and added some fillers to the centerpieces and customized our table numbers to fit our own theme.

Look out for Wedding Flip events. They are usually announced and updated on Facebook but they are events held specifically for newlyweds to sell their decor on to those in the middle of planning.

You can also check apps like OfferUp and LetGo to see what's available in your area. Checking EBay couldn't hurt either.

I second the Goodwill, but make sure you go in and find out which days they have all their glassware on sale for 1/2 off. I got 2 large boxes of vases and candle holders for $14, because it was all half off that day.

I will repeat what most people already have said .. FB buy/sell/swap groups. I got my cathedral veil for $25 from some girl who decided to wear a shorter one and just wanted to get rid of it. I also got the frames for my table numbers for free .. a little spray paint and they're my own!

Also - I'd also check with your venue to see what they may offer/include. Our venue has the wood slices to use as a centerpiece base - plus there's extra stuff that we can use there for free.

I'm not sure if they have a group near you or not but you could give it a try.

We're using wine bottles that I'm getting from friends and family that drink. Painting them and using them.

I'm bought 3 huge boxes off Facebook of wedding lanterns, candles , tulle, and more for $100. I spray painted the lanterns white since we are having a beach wedding and I am going to donate them to the hotel once we are done with them(not bringing them back from fl to tx)for future brides to use.

    Seconding Facebook groups and craigslist.

Also, I'm not sure of your location, but our nearby city holds this bridal resale every year where married folks sell all the wedding stuff they don't need any more.

Also, if you're into mismatched decor, you can always go thrift shopping
