Red lipstick. Trashy of classy?

O! I had this very same question!!!!

It can be very classy, but if you do a bold lip color, stay neutral with your other makeup. I think that's where it crosses into the trashy side.

It all depends on the shade of red and your skin tone.. I can't wear orange based reds but I can rock blue based reds... and it also depends on your over all makeup.. are your eyes like knock them dead or are they so subtle that you can barely even tell your wearing make up... it truely depends on your tastes in style

Depends on how you wear it and who you are... I think it can look really classy if you do it right, like in a vintage sort of way... but I don't see it as horribly trashy, unless your bra is hanging out of your dress and your hair is a crumpled mess... haha... I love the vintage look with the red lipstick up i could never pull it off...

I love red, and i wear a red lipstick it depends on what i'm wearing, but like mentioned if your going to do red make the rest of your makeup skintoned colors, so then it'll bold things up

Classy as long as it is the right shade of red with the correct undertones for you skin coloring. Unfortunately I have never been able to find the right red that looks good on me.

Only if it's a vintage-y wedding and you have color that goes with your skin tone...not to mention as long you you keep the rest of the make up simple..it would be totally rock-a-ble!

I love red and wear it every chance I get. But I agree with Danielle, keep the rest of your make up low key.

I think red lipstick is very classy.

It can go both ways...just depends on the shade and the rest of your make up. Make sure it's not a super bright shade and like others said, keep the rest of your make up toned down a bit

I personally hate red lipstick, but it can look so glamorous when used properly.

I actually think its beautiful and can be very classy. however my FS thinks all red lipstick (and pretty much all lipstick in general) is trashy lol. so I never wear anything but lipgloss.but I say go for it, just like everyone else said, tone down the rest if your going that bold.

I agree that it can be both but with a neutral facial coverage of makeup and then red lipstick it is concidered very classy. I've seen this in wedding shows on www.GetMarried.com.

Rel lipstick can be very classy - just look at the Grace Kelly mag. cover posted by MDLS. Make sure not to overdo your eye makeup, (again, think along "Princess Grace" lines) and you will do just fine! I agree with what everyone else said..it def depends on how you wear it with your other makeup.

The question is how it will look when you look back at the photos? It could look very dated and may require a lot more matainance. But the again photos can be edited, so go with what you know looks good!
