Registration Table Help

Keesta, on March 19, 2009 at 8:17 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3

I am being very untraditional with my registration table. I originally wasn't going to do assigned table seating so I came up with printing the meal selection on placecards and putting them in envelopes with the guest's names on them on the registration table. I ended up doing a seating chart. That's not the problem. The problem is... how do I make the envelopes with the guest's names on them look nice and neat on the registration table? I figured they could be laid out according to table. I was also going to print out the table seating assignments and frame it so everyone can see where they should be. I was just wondering if there was a brilliant idea out there to make it look nice and neat since it will be envelopes on the table and not placecards. Also, I can't redo the placecards because they're already printed. I'm completely anal about getting everything done early...

I did the same thing. I did the escort envelopes wit each person's name. I wanted to hand write them because I thought it would be cute and I didn't want to pay for a calligrapher. But then I hated them!!! They didn't come out as "cute" as I thought they would, and I didn't have time to order more (I had red envelopes because it was Valentine's Day). So i got packing labels, the print out yourself ones, i think they are about 2.5 x 3 inches. And I printed out the labels with each guests name and then I used decorative scissors (wavy) to cut them to the size I wanted and stuck them over what I already wrote. You couldn't tell and it matched good because my colors were red and white. They looked like little Valentine's. Depending on the size of the envelopes, you could also print directly on them with your printer. Just go into Word (or whatever you have) find where you print out labels (in word it's under mailings) and you can set it to whatever size envelope you have. Good Luck!

I would actually arrange them in alphabetical order, not by table (unless they somehow already know what table they are at). This way people can find their names relatively quickly with no real problems instead of searching for their name by their table....
