My FH and I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to start our registry, well it took 2 hours and we barely got anywhere so now we have an appointment to go back. This first appointment she was helpful with dish selection however when we went out into the store she was very pushy about things and FH and I felt we couldn't discuss things to put on the registry and we really wanted to just be given a scanner and to be left alone but that wasn't it at all, it stressed me out! Has anyone had an experience like this or were you able to go off alone (with FH) to pick things out without a salesperson and how can we address that? I also heard of maybe an app that would allow us to scan what we want ourselves but I'm not sure if that was BB&B. Help would be great!

My fiancé and I had the exact same problem! We really expected to just get a scanner and walk around ourselves. Our lady was pushy about things and we felt like we couldn't really talk about things with her there. We got some stuff put on our list, but we have just been adding more online through their website. That's been pretty easy

I had learned on here that people walk with you, so we were prepared to tell our person to hit the road. The woman who set us up in the computer was super old and not at all interested so she didnt' even attempt to follow us. I would go back and just be direct that you want to do it alone.

This was my experience as well. I thought it was a longer process than say, Macy's or Target when they just give you a scanner and let you scan your little heart out lol We were there for a little over 2 hours and only got through the pots and pans

OP, by BB&B experience was extremely similar to yours. Our consultant was super pushy and then got offended when I said we had already registered for certain items at a another store. Like you we were there for almost 2 hours and then she told us we only had enough gifts for 30% of our guest list and she set up an appointment for us to go back and finish the registry.

I was so stressed out after that experience that we decided we were not going back for that appointment. We finished up our registry online and it was so much easier.

Our BB&B registry took almost 3 hours with the lady walking us through the entired store. She was very nice - she did push a few things on us that we later just went online and deleted. She was great though at giving us time and space to discuss which options would work for us. We had a great experience.

But if you are looking for a registry that you can just get the scanner and do your own thing, I would check out Macy's! We were in and out of there in about 30-45 min, and it was nice to just wander around on our own.
