Registry ideas for you + what were your favorite gifts you've received?

Amanda, on January 20, 2021 at 12:53 PM Posted in Registry 0 11

I saw a lot of posts on here about what to register for for your bridal showers and weddings, and I figured I would show you what I have registered for. I made a registry for our engagement party and enjoy adding /subtracting to it all the time! I have researched the hell out of what to put on there, read soooo many articles, and added some weird things (outdoor shower for after my FI surfs) my FI wanted. For reference, our wedding is 2022, and will have about 100 guests.

Basically, crazy bride status over here, but my registry makes me so happy! Obviously gifts aren't the point, but it's fun to register for things you want outside of your price range and think of things you'll have forever. Someone advised me, if you don't think you'll have it for years or if it's under $20 (meaning you can easily buy it yourself), leave it off the registry, and I followed that advice somewhat.

I used Zola, which I like for the ability to make things a group gift and link from other registries. I'd love to hear what you put on your registries, too, or, if you're married, what were your favorite gifts you've received?

I've personally never known any couples to have a registry for an engagement party before (engagement parties usually aren't gift-giving events), but I can tell you with certainty that the best thing we registered for and received for our wedding was a le creuset dutch oven. We use it a least once a week, and it will probably last for several decades. We received several other le creuset items, but the dutch oven is truly the standout. I would definitely recommend putting it on your registry!

I actually have one which is why I didn't put it on there, and I love it, too! We have a Dyson, Kitchen Aid, Le Cruset, and Roomba, so some of the big ticket items we didn't add to our list. Our parents asked for a registry for our engagement party, so we had to make one!

Our registry is through Zola as well! We really love it so far!

My mom gifted us our instant pot from it for Christmas, and we really enjoy it! But I think I'm most excited about a new pots and pans set (Calphalon), a new vacuum (dyson), and just major kitchen upgrades!

I had added the same Dutch oven you have onto ours as well!! I'm hoping someone gets it because it's amaaazing!

Best gift we got was an extra blanket. We didn’t register for it and I don’t think it was intended to be an extra. But, we LOVE having our own blankets! It’s horrible going out of town and having to share one now, lol.
Also I got a garlic chopper, it keeps my fingers from smelling like garlic. Cheap but I love it!

I redid our whole registry over the summer/fall with the goal of having as many of the items as possible be American made. I put a TON of work into it and I would say about 60%-70% of it is now items that are made in the USA Smiley smile

I'm especially excited for our sheets and flatware, as well as our dishes, if Lenox ever restocks the pattern I want Smiley cry

We got Christmas plates and a serving platter and I'm obsessed! Also got an air fryer that is a ton of fun. Glad we registered for a new knife block to update my old one.

Registering is by far my favorite part of wedding planning! My bridal shower is next month so I haven't gotten a ton of gifts off the registry yet but I did get a Le Creuset dutch oven as an engagement present and holy cow I don't know how I lived without one! I also got a cold brew coffee maker for Christmas and that has also already been put to use. There were a few items I put on the registry that my FH just shook his head at - but why wouldn't I take this opportunity to register for a very reasonably priced wine fridge??
