Did you have a registry or plan to?

If you already live together, what do you put on it?

Yes nearly every engaged couple registers, even after living together. Everyone can use updated matching linens and kitchen/bath items because they do not last forever.

Go to bedbathandbeyond.com and look at their registry list. Use that as a guideline.

We live together and have decided not to ask for gifts. We even put a note along with the invitation that said, in part, "we prefer your presence rather than your presents". With the awful year many of our family and friends have had we just couldn't justify asking anyone to spend money on gifts, especially since we already have enough things.

My fiancé & I have been living together for some time & definitely don’t need more things in our home- we just have a honeymoon fund. When asked if we’re registered anywhere, we’ve told them about our honeymoon fund. The look of relief on their faces is awesome!

My husband and I lived together for three years before we got married. Our registry included upgraded items like new dishes and pots and pans. We also wanted bath stuff that actually matched.

I have been experiencing a similar issue. What I have been doing is just picking some things that I would like, like new severing bowls/ platters, some new baking pans, ect. Nothing expensive just some middle of the road items that I would love to get, but also if I did not get them I wouldn't be heart broken. We also have a cash fund on Zola.com for home renovations which is our "most desired gift". I find it pretty awkward asking for things, but a lot of people I know including family have already started asking about my registry and when it will be available to them, which I guess is sort of reassuring.

Do you know if there a way to connect your Zola (or any) cash fund to your WeddingWire site like you can with registries?

We just registered for major upgrades on things we already have. We've been living together for almost 7 years, so we have all that we need, but it's all mismatched, hand-me-downs, or just need replacing.

We also registered for board/card games because we get together with friends often, and games are something we love!

I think if you create a cash fund type registry you can use the import option to connect them. I haven't tried yet though!

I felt the same way when I got engaged and started thinking about a registry - I had no idea what we were going to put on since we had already been living together for a year and a half by the time of my shower. I considered a honeymoon fund but felt bad asking people for money so I decided to at least look at bed bath and beyond and Macy's and ended up creating a full registry of stuff! We used their guides to help make our registry.

We put an air fryer, Keurig, new matching towels, new sheets, a set of dishes/bowls, new glasses, new silverware on the registry - just to name a few - and received it all - things that I didn't think we needed until we got them and now that we have them I couldn't be happier that we ended up making the registry.

Our registry wasn't huge - I wanted to avoid putting things on there just to put things on there - and we ended up getting a lot of cash too and gift cards to bed bath and beyond - that we are now using at buy buy baby since we are married now and expecting our first baby Smiley smile

I would suggest going through some registry guides and seeing if there's anything you think you would want or could use! Good luck!

I agree with upgrading things you already have! I put things on there I would love to have but might not necessarily be up to buying for myself like a nice new set of bamboo sheets, reversible ceramic double sided griddle, a really nice cold drink dispenser from crate and barrel, a new vacuum to replace the relatively cheap one I picked up. I also put some fun kitchen items on there like air fryer, kitchen aid (dying to get this as a beginner baker) and specialty quality pots and pans from all-clad to replace the random ones I have. Also, the living composter I am very excited for. Other things were serving platters, cute picture frames, and vases. I would get creative and think of things you would love to have around that you never let yourself buy for whatever reason. Even plants and paintings! Think about your hobbies and what you want to surround yourself with Smiley smile good luck!
