Registry

Stephanie, on October 21, 2019 at 6:38 PM Posted in Registry 0 20
Hi,

It's time for us to start our registry. My family is telling me to do it now since my bridal shower is in January. Where are good spots to register? I love crate and barrel and was thinking of bed, bath, and beyond but was told they are going out of business. Should we do online instead and would that be confusing for the older generation? I want to make it easy for everyone

Even if you register online, you can still shop in store. I haven't heard any rumors of BB&B going out of business and we've loved our registry experience with them so far. If you do want to go into the store (I would recommend picking towels and linens in person) use their app to scan things instead of speaking with the bridal consultants. It's super fun to use their little handheld scanner, but they will pressure you into registering for SO many things that you don't want/need. Their app has a scanner built in and it's really convenient. We also registered on Amazon because, well, they have everything. We're pleased with both of our options so far.

We did Bed Bath & Beyond, Pottery Barn, and Crate & Barrel. I haven’t heard anything about BBB going out of business, I read a while ago something about them closing 50 or 60 stores next year but they still have over 1000 stores. We went in person to register and I’m so glad we did so we could see and feel everything in person.

We did a registry at BB&B and went to their event and won some free stuff! However, it was easier for me to have them all in once place, so I actually found all of the things I registered for at BB&B and added them to an Amazon registry. Now, everyone can see what is already bought and it is super easy to return items (I just did, as I received 2 of the same item). It's easier for me so I can keep track of everything (they make you a Thank You list and show you who got what, which will be very helpful after the wedding) and easy for my guests so they don't have to look multiple places!

I didn’t link the BB&B registry so I’m not sure. I ended up just adding the individual items after finding them on Amazon Smiley smile

We’re doing Amazon for the majority of our registry with some stuff at Target. We considered BBB, but I wasn’t impressed at all. The way I see it, if people give us gift cards instead of physical gifts, I don’t want to feel stuck getting stuff I may or may not truly need/want (depending on what actual items are left), so Amazon and Target are great options because of their flexibility!

A friend used an online registry service where she actually had items listed from all and any stores including the usual pottery Barn, bbb, Macy's but also Wayfair, overstock, Amazon, etc. I loved the idea. She also had gift card/honeymoon or some other fund options for those who didn't want to purchase household items.

Bed, Bath and Beyond is always a good option. They literally have everything and you can buy online or in store! Plus, there's pretty much always a coupon. I haven't heard or seen anything about them going out of business. I would definitely recommend doing another registry, Crate & Barrel is a good option. You can do somewhere strictly online like Amazon too. Pretty much any place you register in person for, you can purchase online. I would recommend having a physical store as one of your options for those that want to go shopping and pick something out.

I highly recommend Zola since you can add all your favorite brands into it and other sites. This is also great for receiving cash funds and transferring into your account.

Bed bath and beyond isn’t going out of business. They are closing a couple stores though. I’m looking at this same thing and I did register there but don’t know where else I should.

Unpopular opinion but I hate BB&B.
I was set on having one at Kohl’s but they no longer do them ): so I have no clue what I’m going to do. Amazon is nice but the quality of some of the items aren’t. It’s a hit or miss.

Bed bath and beyond is closing a lot of the their store locations, but they are not going out of business. So most of their business will be done online. We just registered there and at crate and barrel. If you have a lot of guests that you think might not want to pick gifts online I would find at least one place you can shop in person. A department store like Macy’s, or whatever is popular in your area would be perfect.

We had our registries at Crate & Barrel and Williams Sonoma for those who wanted to purchase online or in-store (and wanted to give a traditional gift). We also had a honeymoon fund and we hosted everything through Zola.

I haven't heard of any bed bath and beyond closing.. but i think they are a great place to register. anyone can order online and ship it to you if they prefer. or go to the store. also - i would add to your registry stuff for your wedding you might want (guest book, card boxes, cake cutter, champagne glasses etc).

also other options might be target, amazon, wayfair, macys.

We did Crate & Barrel, Target, and Wanderable (honeymoon registry). We attended a Crate & Barrel wedding registry event; in our local store, it was held on a Sunday morning prior to the store opening, with a bunch of other engaged couples! They had some snacks available and gave each couple a set of stemless wine glasses as a "thank you" gift. Some of their salespeople will try to pressure you into registering for overly expensive items (they tried to convince us to register for waaaay expensive knives), so it's important to know your crowd and have an idea of the price points you should be registering at. I did the Target registry online only (didn't add anything in store).

We are thinking of doing Target because I love the Joanna Gaines line they have there called Hearth and Hand with Magnolia. Plus I feel Target has a good price range for various items as well.

My mom works at BBB and has for 6 years. We haven't heard anything of them going out of business.

My husband and I registered there and loved it! It was very simple and our guests liked the easiness as well. We went in personally for most registry items so we could physically see and touch them, but some we did have to register for online.

We registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, and Amazon.

I'd recommend no more than 3-4 places max, unless you decide to go with Zola and register for a little bit of everything.

I was thinking of using Target. Make sure to have high, medium, and low cost items so if a group wants to combine money and get you a high dollar item you want, they can. Good luck!
