Regrets on wedding day

Is there anything that you wish you would have done or didn't do on your wedding day? Things didn't go as planned?

I know from my first wedding that I spent so much time trying to run around talking to all the guests that I barely said two words to my new husband. This is why this time around we are doing immediate family only. On this most important day, I just wanna spend it with my VIPs and my husband.

That's great advice! Focus on the one who will be there when everyone else is gone. Thank you for this!

I have heard many couples say this same thing! They invite too many people then waste their entire evening going from table to table to make sure they speak to everyone, and don’t get to enjoy their reception. I’ve also heard a lot of couples say they regret not eating at the reception

Another regret I have heard from a ton of brides is that they didn’t hire a videographer. I didn’t plan on having one for our wedding, but after hearing that regret over and over again, we ended up hiring one!

Well my day was a disaster and everything was late but I wish I would have had more time for pictures, done less diy the morning of my wedding, and hired my dj for longer then 5 hours. We had him until 10pm but we were all having so much fun I wish we would have stayed until midnight.

No regrets at all, fortunately! I am soo happy everything turned out the way it did! Just by being 30 mins late changed a lot for the better actually. And it wasn't me that made us late either lol. I think things happen for a reason though.

No regrets, but looking back I wish we added another half hour to our 1hr cocktail time so after pics we could enjoy the food and more casual way of interacting with our guests.

My biggest regret is not hiring a videograpger. There are so many things I don't remember and it would have been nice to look back on our wedding. Also, I didn't get a chance to talk with everyone or try anything on the desert table and cappuccino bar.

Well, I cannot change anything, but if I could, having all the experience, I would :

    - spend more time with my guests, I really feel like I didn't talk to them enough...

    - spend more time with my husband, I would do a sweethearts table instead of one with our parents I think...

    - do a lot of stuff well before the wedding day, to be able to cope with all the surprises 1-2 weeks before...

    - make sure I have more time off work before the wedding day

    - organise a meal for my guests coming from abroad already a day before...

We really invested ourselves a lot to be sure that our wedding would please our guests. We somehow put ourselves on the second plan... we shouldn't have !

My first plan was to do a small reception in a restaurant, just a meal and some music, no dancing or playing... Finally we had a venue and a DJ, but my husband is not even a dancer, so it was really for the guests, not for us... I think that I would prefer my first version !

This was us. I felt like all we did was run around and dance together. We didn't get any time to really enjoy one another, I felt.
