Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner Invites

C, on August 12, 2021 at 7:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Do you send out invitations for both the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner? Or do you only send out invites to the rehearsal dinner portion and let bridal party know about the rehearsal itself via text/email/call? Our rehearsal dinner is about 30 minutes after our rehearsal. The rehearsal is at our venue and the rehearsal dinner at a nearby restaurant

Only those involved in the rehearsal need to be at the dinner along with their significant others. It isn’t an invitation so much as a “you need to be here at this time”.

We sent out invitations to the rehearsal dinner and then sent out a rough timeline for that day and the wedding day to those who need it. This gives bridal party and parents timing for each 'event' and who needs to be in attendance for what. I think a simple group chat or email (however you are communicating with those involved in your wedding) will suffice.

You could send out just one invite for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner combined, with the time listed as the rehearsal start time and location as the rehearsal location, and then include something along the lines of, "Please join us for dinner at [location] immediately following the rehearsal".

I sent out invites for rehearsal dinner as I have some out of town family who are included even though they aren't involved in the wedding ceremony per se. For the actual rehearsal, I just communicated to bridal party and parents (everyone involved in the ceremony) what time they need to be there.

We only sent out invites for the rehearsal dinner. We had a bunch of guests attending the rehearsal dinner who didn't need to be involved in the rehearsal (out of town guests, significant others, extended family, etc.). We simply sent an email to our wedding party with the details about the rehearsal
