Rehearsal day ideas

Kala, on July 22, 2022 at 11:55 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 3
My fiancé and I aren’t having the normal bachelor/bachelorette party as us and our bridal party live all over and are getting together the day beforehand for rehearsal. Needing ideas of things we could do during the day before we all meet up together. Really would like the bridal party to meet each other before hand so it’s not awkward morning and day of. Any ideas on things we could do? Also, my fiancé and I are in a small budget and are footing the bill on everything, is it against etiquette that we don’t pay for RD? Sorry for the questions, just trying to have a great time for us and everyone.

The rehearsal dinner traditionally is a way to say thank you to your bridal party for taking the time out of their busy schedules to rehearse with you so yes it is usually hosted by someone. In my circle its often the groom's family who hosts/pays for it but it doesn't have to be the couple can host it themselves. The rehearsal can be as casual or fancy as you like. As far as the getting the bridal party together do you have any space you can invite people over to in your home or outside, you can have a have some bagels/donuts and coffee for everyone. Picnic in the park would be nice too or meet up at Starbucks grab some drinks and just hang there or go for a nice walk. Good luck!

Not sure of things you guys could do but it is definitely considered rude to have the bridal party pay for the rehearsal. The rehearsal is a dinner to thank them for taking part in the rehearsal and the wedding so you should be covering the cost unless someone offers to do so on your behalf. For example, my mother-in-law offered to pay for our rehearsal dinner. A rehearsal dinner can also be something simple like pizza and soda. It doesn't have to be fancy or over the top.

The wedding party doesn’t need to meet ahead of time. Also, you really do need to cover rehearsal dinner expenses. Skip the fancy meal and order pizzas the day before from the Costco food court or have your favorite local chain deliver. Cut out other expenses to afford it, such as bridesmaids proposal boxes, favors/welcome bags, a reception dress, separate after party, champagne, etc which no one will miss.
