Rehearsal dinner and bridal shower

Kelsey, on December 31, 2019 at 12:12 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9
So we booked our rehearsal dinner spot in October, its within walking distance of our venue and attached to the holiday inn that we have a block of rooms at. We will be having Italian food. Pizza, pasta, salad and garlic bread then a get together with all the out of town guests at the bar of the restaurant. My mom is starting to plan my bridal shower, she wants to do it where I live about 45 mins from her. Which is awesome, but she asked for suggestions of places I suggested 3 places. Now she is talking about having it in the same room as our rehearsal dinner. I don't really care, I love the food there and they have great customer service. But as a guest would this be strange? Like having 2 of wedding events in the same place? The events will be a few months apart but just wondering others opinions or thoughts.

As a guest, I probably wouldn't think twice about it.

Recently went to a wedding that was at a country club and the shower had been in a different part.
    As a guest I wouldn't care.
As the bride, I'd be annoyed.

Maybe that's what it is. I think I might be a bit annoyed. Especially since I gave other suggestions.

Nope! My venue offered discounts to have the bridal shower, rehearsal and wedding there. We ultimately decided not to because they were still more expensive then other places even with the discounts. However, if it bothers you then I would be honest with your mom. I was the maid of honor in my brother's wedding and we used a large room in the church they got married at for the bridal shower. That room was not used though at all for the wedding or the rehearsal so it wasn't like they overlapped.

I don’t think it is weird at all! Probably two different meals anyway? Brunch for the shower and dinner for the rehearsal? I wouldn’t worry about it.

I think my mom is wanting to have more of lunch type foods. I mean I love Italian food but I just can't put my finger on why this is bugging me a bit. My FH said the same thing so that doesn't help. I think I'm going to try to just let it go and not worry about it. Just be grateful that she is throwing me a shower.

We as brides are also super concerned about what other people think, I’m sure you are just worried about how the whole thing will be received. If I were a guest, it wouldn’t bother me in the least. A lot of venues have deals if you book the shower, rehearsal dinner, and wedding at the same place, so I don’t think would be unusual. I wouldn’t worry, I’m sure it will be a lovely shower and wedding! Cheers!
