Rehearsal Dinner Cost

How much are you budgeting for your rehearsal dinner (those of you who are paying for it yourself)? Or what % of your budget? My fiancé and I were just extrapolating costs, looks like we are at about $1000 out the door. Is that insane compared to everyone else? Smaller group- 18 people.

That seems like a lot for 18 people... my wedding food for 130 guests is $3,000. So the rehearsal dinner for a third of the price for only 18 guests sounds absurd.

It all obviously depends on what you serve though...

My rehearsal dinner is $15 per plate for 30 guest. So it will come out to be around $500.

We're having Jamaican food catered for our RD next week, Total is $300 for 35 ppl which is SOOOO reasonable... it's being held at our home and we have purchased alcohol to ensure that our guests can drink freely... Smiley smile

I plan on having it at our home. We will be having food catered or made by us, nothing fancy. Probably burgers and such with different apps. We're laid back and just want to relax with everyone.

If a couple is on a budget, have the rehearsal dinner and have some foot long sandwiches, chips and drinks. Relaxed atmosphere and paid for by the host. If I were one of your BP Members, I wouldn't go.

Our rehearsal dinner is $700 for 40 people at our venue. We rented it for the weekend and are doing a a catered Taquiza. They estimate 6 tacos per person, 5 different meats/veggies, rice and beans, churros, and agua Fresca.

If we don't count how much the rental of the venue is for the weekend.

We're having our rehearsal dinner at the restaurant adjoined to our reception hotel. We're budgeting $1000 for 23 guests, but the manager said we get a discount since we're hosting the reception there. How does alcohol factor in to your $1000? Having it be consumption or just having table wine might help.

I know people who did this same thing. It was the guest's choice to attend or not. For those who hosted it, they felt it was just a more intimate time to spend with the bridal party. Like you said, you did other things for them so that's where that part of the budget went to. I understand why people do this. Smiley smile

Did you serve anything besides BBQ? How much did you rent the tables and chairs for?

    Thank you,

    Cheryl

    We have 100-150 guests.
