Rehearsal dinner date

Bailey, on June 13, 2021 at 8:21 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9
I know the rehearsal dinner is normally the night before the wedding. However, my baby brother is graduating from marine boot camp 09-17-2021 and my wedding is set for 09-18-2021. My Future Husband and I discussed moving it up to 09-16-2021 but found out that’s the “family day” at Paris Island. The other issue is my nephews birthday is 09-15. So now it’s looking like I’m going to have to push to either the weekend before or the beginning of the week to attempt to be able to fit a rehearsal dinner in. My nephew agreed to let me “borrow his birthday” as he called it (he’s 9, gotta love him lol) if he could have a birthday cake for him there. I just feel bad for taking over his birthday party with wedding stuff. Should I just try to make it the weekend before? Or use his birthday since we all would have to get together anyways? We had originally planned to go to the venue and do a run through and go to a separate restaurant afterwards. Rehearsal dinner date 1

I think you should just skip the rehearsal. If you can’t do it the night before, I don’t think it’s necessary a week ahead of time.

I agree! Just skip the dinner. I’d still do a rehearsal with the wedding party and officiant.

Both of my parents and one bridesmaid would be gone. But all the groomsmen and my other two bridesmaids would be here. It wouldn’t be considered rude to do it without them? I just don’t want to step on toes but we just found out today when his graduation would be and we’ve had the wedding planned since January 😭

Host it when it makes sense. Whoever can be there will be there. Otherwise, I would just skip it. People can figure out how to walk in a straight line. You can set aside 10 minutes before the ceremony to go over logistics.

We had our rehearsal dinner the Thursday before our Saturday wedding. I had mail & pedi appointments, COVID testing plus several last minute things the day before our wedding that we just couldn’t do one more thing. I think having it the Saturday or Sunday before would work out fine.

Most of our bridal party was from out of town so we didn’t want to ask them to take another day, so we skipped the rehearsal altogether, and everything worked out just fine

I would just skip it. You can do a quick run through the morning of the wedding. But if you can't do it the day before, or 2 days before, I wouldn't bother.
