Rehearsal dinner decor?

Bridget, on July 10, 2019 at 10:45 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 38
Are you supposed to decorate your rehearsal dinner space? I honestly just thought about this today and I have no idea lol. What is everyone doing for your rehearsal dinner and are you decorating?

We’re not either- I’m not stressing out over an hour long dinner. What ever the restaurant has set up is fine.

I did not have any decor, I had a friend that had little centerpieces that she was reusing for her reception the next day but that was it.

I'm not sure what my FMIL is doing for the rehearsal dinner since she's planning that, but when my brothers got married, my mom decorated the venue a ton for each of their rehearsal dinners. Most rehearsal dinners I've been to lately haven't been decorated, though.

We ordered in a bunch of pizzas at the house we were all sharing. No special decor.

Perfect we are honestly doing the same thing except its at a brick oven place. I was just working on the menu actually. Can I ask how many people you are having and how many pizzas you will be ordering?

It's been a while, but I think it was about five pizzas for ten people?

Okay, we will have about 35 people but I was thinking with 1 per couple we should be good plus we will have apps. Thank you!

Most people do not do much decorating. If you are doing it in a nice restaurant, many have a closet of table things, matching candles with stained glass or cut glass around, or fancy centerpieces, or matching vases so you can order 50 flowers for wait staff to split into five vases, colored tablecloth overlays. But other than flowers and candles, or a special centerpiece at each table, and nice linens and glassware if a fancy dinner, I have never been to a RD that anyone decorated.

I didn't really consider it until I looked at the restaurant's contract that called out having access to the space beforehand to decorate. Not sure what we'll do, but certainly nothing elaborate.

I don't think that's something you have to do. I think it'd just end up being an extra cost.

I don’t think you have to, especially if it’s at a restaurant. I might ask a few of the groomsmen’s wives (who are also friends of mine and will be at the dinner and live local) to drop off a few small vases of flowers and candles- just 1 for each of the 3 tables so it will look nice but I haven’t decided yet.

Honestly my fmil mil keeps bragging about how she is “hosting” it, and is totally fine with the price, location, and time but to date hasn’t lifted a finger to help with it and has left the entire thing up to me. Frustrating.
