So about 70-80% of our guests are from out of town. My fiance's parents are generously paying for the dinner, which we are so grateful for, but they want to know how many people to expect and what we would like to do for the dinner. I would like to invite everyone from out of town for the dinner, but since it is almost the entire guest list, I would feel guilty if they had to pay for that many people. Would you just invite the wedding party, or just reserve a place and have everyone pay their own bill? Or something in between? I'm so lost. HELP 😭

I have been an out of town guest and have and have not been invited. The one we were invited to was an inexpensive buffet. They paid for it and it was very nice. In our area we do not have anything like that. The other one- only the wedding party was invited. Which was fine. It gave us time to do something we wanted and to relax after traveling. For my own wedding we just had a large cookout in my Parents backyard since my Husband's family lived 5 hours away. It was relaxing and fun. Everyone got to meet each other. We didn't have anything fancy.

I’m in the same exact boat. I just rented a small party hall and we are gonna get food catered that way everyone from out of town can come too and we have the freedom to stay a few hours and walk around and converse.
