Rehearsal Dinner ideas... HOUSTON area

Highly, on February 16, 2012 at 5:22 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

I am really out of ideas about this. Our rehearsal will consist of 14 bridal party, 2 flower girls with their parents, 1 ring bearer and his parents, our family which is a good 20 so I am almost looking at about 50 people and I don't know what's the best option. My uncle's house is about 30minutes or less driving - at first I thought we should do a barbecue type thing but I am concerned about the driving for everyone. Than I started thinking of going out to eat and I know in my culture it will be rude to ask people to pay for their food so my budget will be 10$ per person.... yes I am cheap!

my wedding rehearsal and ceremony will be in the South West area near the galleria.. if we were to have a barbecue we will have to drive close to the greenspoint mall etc...

Anyways what do you think I should do?

Carinos is a pretty good italian restaurant. Although the per plate could get expensive, they have family platters at a reasonbale price. You could just order 1 or 2 of each family platter and have everyone share.

I think a bbq would be great and in Houston it takes 30 minutes to get any where so I think that should be fine. Just make sure you print maps and directions for anyone driving not from the area and try to not have them navigating in 5pm traffic. If you want to go with a restaurant it will be tough but you make look into doing a Mexican type fiesta with fajitas, etc. You can usually get bulk or family style for reasonable prices...

Hi Queen, I lived in Houston for 3 years and I think you should goto Grand Lux restaurant and by several different appetizers, and perhaps drinks for the adults, wont be expensive at all, all if they want entres' you can ask them to purchase that. Thats what I am doing. We will have appetizers from the Hotel restaurant, my budget is $140. for 10-12 persons, they can get there drinks and we'll handle the food. Good luck.

Also the Grand Lux can accommodate that size crowd and there food is good. Look at online menu. Pre pick items and go from there.

I read on another board about a bride getting Rudy's BBQ for $10/plate with ice tea. And they have great BBQ.
