Hey WW friends!

I have a conundrum. Our wedding is the 28th of November, and almost everyone will be flying or driving in from out of state, on the Wednesday or Thursday (thanksgiving) before the wedding.

My venue says typically their rehearsal hour (just a quick walk through of the ceremony and then get dinner somewhere else) is the Thursday before the wedding, but in our case that will be thanksgiving so 1: they might not be open (they haven't told us yet) and 2 everyone will be too full to have a nice big dinner anyways.

I'm not sure what to do because we can't do it earlier in the week since not everyone in the bridal party will have arrived yet, and the two nights before the wedding are Thanksgiving and Black Friday. We can't plan the rehearsal dinner as a thanksgiving because both sides of the family want to do their own traditional dinner on their own. Would it be too crazy to do the rehearsal dinner on Black Friday, which is also the night before the wedding, or is that really my only option?

Thanks for any advice!

PS: I know my wedding date is at like the worst time but it is our 4.5 year dating anniversary and we didn't really realize how it would screw up everyones thanksgiving plans. We thought it would be nice to have both families together but apparently others don't feel the same way lmao. We would have chosen our actual anniversary but that was a whole other fight with family, plus we live in texas and it would have been too hot! Smiley winking

Our date falls exactly in the middle of our two birthdays. My birthday is 10/20 and his is 12/22. So I said to him, “How cute would it be if we got married on 11/21?”
I didn’t even think about the fact that Thanksgiving was the following week. Didn’t even realize it until my MOH brought it up. So our first Thanksgiving married will be on our honeymoon 😂 (🤞🏼🤞🏼Carnival cruise to the Bahamas🤞🏼🤞🏼)

Haha thats so cute!! We didnt realize it either, we just really wanted it to be on our anniversary, even if its the half one! We were long distance for a long time, and to help the time pass by we celebrated our "monthaversary," the 28th of every month! Its still something we like to do to remember where we came from. 😊❤

I really thought rehearsals were typically the night before the wedding. I’ve never been in one where it was earlier than that. I don’t think having it on Black Friday would be a terrible thing, and it may be better if you’re thinking your venue might be closed or if you think about how the employees would probably rather be with family. Not everyone shops on Black Friday and the majority who do find it such a big to-do will be done by lunch, can take a nap (because they were probably up all night) and be rested to come to your rehearsal. It would probably be easier to find a restaurant to do a dinner on Friday than on Thanksgiving.

I would definitely do it on Friday... by the time you have your rehearsal, anyone that wants to go shopping or do anything will have had time to do it. Traditionally the rehearsal is the day before the wedding anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

So Black Friday is a crack of dawn shopping experience most sales are done y early afternoon. I think a nice early evening rehearsal will be fine 4-5 rehearsal dinner to follow to give you a chance to get a good nights rest for the next day.
