Rehearsal Dinner Invitations

Kari, on February 16, 2020 at 11:20 AM Posted in Parties and Events 1 11

We did email STDs and are doing paper invites for our wedding but online RSVP via our wedding website (so no RSVP cards).

Is it too casual to just invite members of the wedding party and our immediate family to our rehearsal dinner via word of mouth/text or do you feel its necessary to "formalize" the invitations and collect RSVPs?

Our rehearsal dinner is expected to be 16-19 people if we include just us, our wedding party, our officiant (who is a friend), and immediate family, plus SO's of those already mentioned, so it's a pretty small group. We are having it on site and catered by our venue.

We did an evite. That way they can have the information somewhere to look back to. And it's free.

That's a good idea. I was thinking of doing a nice email, like we did with the STDs, that way everyone gets the same information and all the details are in one spot.

I think word of mouth is fine, but I would probably send an email or something so that they have the details to look back on.

Email works to. I like evite.com. They have pretty designs and people can rsvp on the event page.

We had approximately 30 people. We just gave people the information via text message. It was easier this way and saved us money.

We did evites (through minted) for the rehearsal dinner. I believe we did email/google calendar invites for the rehearsal itself (had to be done the morning of the day before our wedding day) and I did google calendar invites for a ‘bridal luncheon’ of sorts where I treated my bridesmaids, Mom and MIL to a nice lunch near the venue just after the rehearsal.

I actually didn’t even think about doing invites for our rehearsal dinner (well we did a lunch actually lol but same thing). Ours was also just immediate fam and bridal party so we just gave them the info when we planned it so they knew when and where to be. Making and sending invites would’ve just been more stress, work, and money at that point
