Rehearsal Dinner Invites

Tori, on July 30, 2021 at 9:30 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7

Hey all!

I am working on my invites for our rehearsal dinner and I'm stumped with how to word it. So of course my wedding party and parents will be invited to the rehearsal but I have some family coming from out of town that day and I want to invite them to the dinner portion. So how would I word this? Do I just make the invites with the rehearsal dinner start time and just let me my wedding party know the rehearsal will be earlier? Or do I need to include both times on the invite?

Thank you!

We're not doing paper invites, we just created separate events and selected from our guest list who all is invited to what. When they go to RSVP online, it will pull up all events they're invited to, and it's tailored to each guest and what we've selected for them!

I would just put the time for the rehearsal dinner on there, and send a group message to those in the wedding party what the start time is for the rehearsal. I feel like if you put the rehearsal time on the invites, some family members might get confused and still come to both lol.

I wasn't planning on doing invites for the rehearsal dinner, but I agree with SHY. Put the dinner time on the invite and just communicate to the wedding party where and when the actual rehearsal is.

We invited some out-of-town guests to our rehearsal dinner who weren't in the wedding party. We just put the start time for the dinner on the invitations. For anyone who was in the bridal party or who was otherwise interested in attending the rehearsal, we simply let them know by word of mouth.

We also invited out of town guests to our rehearsal dinner. We just put the start time of the dinner on the invitations, and we let our bridal party know later on via email about the details of the actual rehearsal portion

Could you share how you did this? In the guest list, I have made it so that when guests RSVP, those who are invited to the rehearsal also get prompted to RSVP to that. But I can't figure out how to put the rehearsal details in. I've tried making a new event on the website, but can't figure out how to make it private and only viewable to those invite.

Hi Megan! I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing this!!

What platform are you using for your website? Ours is through Zola and to edit the details I go to Website --> Edit Pages --> Schedule OR RSVP (either link works to edit specific event details). From there my events show up regardless of whether I use the Schedules tab, or RSVP tab. So for ours, Rehearsal and Wedding both show up under 'Your Events', and they both have an 'edit' link beside them. From there I can edit all of the details for the specific event I have selected!
