Rehearsal Dinner Invites

Nicole, on February 7, 2020 at 1:15 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 4

Getting ready to send out invites for the Rehearsal dinner but I am stuck on what the wording should be. My Fiancé and I are hosting and it feels odd referring to us in the 3rd person since we are hosting. Am I over thinking this? Should it just say "Please join us for a rehearsal dinner to celebrate the upcoming marriage of.."

Goodness, planning has been relatively easy and stress free for me, not sure why I am getting hung up on this. Thanks in advance.

You don't need to use third person because it's not actually a party in your honor. The purpose of a rehearsal dinner is to thank the people who attend the rehearsal for taking time out of their day to do so.

Girl right?! I am the person creating the complexity in my head too! How about something short like “Please join us for our Rehearsal Dinner!”. Like drop the “celebrating...” part.. Good luck!

I think "us" will be fine. I received an invite once that was definitely in the third person and it felt clunky.

Ours says "Please join us for a rehearsal dinner in honor of bride & groom" with our names instead of bride/groom.
