Rehearsal dinner invites

Marie, on February 13, 2020 at 12:06 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 12
How are you inviting people to your rehearsal dinner? Included w wedding invite? Sent separate invite? Email invite?
Our wedding party is pretty small but my parents want to invite all family members to the rehearsal dinner; it’s gonna be a lot of people. I already sent the wedding invites... wondering if evites are way too tacky?? I’d love to save money on this if it’s not tacky.

As you know from my post I haven't received my wedding invites lol ....but we did evites for the wedding shower and it wasn't that bad. I think my fmil was considering doing the same thing for the rehearsal dinner.

I’m wondering the same thing! We’re leaning towards doing evites for the rehearsal dinner since the invitations were so expensive.

We're doing inserts with our invitations.

Everyone will get an invitation, an RSVP card + envelope, and a "details" card with our hotel block info and wedding website url.
The details card that goes to people who are only invited to the wedding will be one-sided.
People who are also invited to the rehearsal dinner and/or brunch, will have the appropriate invitation(s) printed on the other side of the details card.

My FMIL is taking care of the rehearsal dinner invitations because that's the Groom's families responsibility to host. I think she is planning on sending paper invitations with an RSVP card because that's what she wants to do. They are hosting, so they are doing the inviting.

I just told my wedding party what time to be at the rehearsal. I didn’t send invites. They were unnecessary. We only had our wedding party and their SO’s, plus our immediate family attend. So everyone knew about it because we told them.

I plan on doing a simple DIY printable template I found on Etsy that will be separate from the wedding invite.

We did evites from Minted. They were super cute and everyone got them (none lost to spam filters). Also, our rehearsal dinner was pretty informal: catered BBQ in a private room at a brewery, so it fit the vibe. And we only invited wedding party and immediate family (meaning parents and siblings). I don’t even have all the emails for the extended family members, so that would present an issue of me. 😂

I don't think evites are tacky but we included paper invites with our wedding invites.
