We had a full open bar at our rehearsal and would absolutely do it again. It was fun and we wanted to host our guests well!

Our rehearsal dinner is at a BYOB restaurant so we will be bringing a few bottles of champagne and wine, and some beer. There is also a liquor store literally in the next parking lot, so people are welcome to get other drinks if they'd like to choose their own or if we somehow run out and they want more, but we will be providing what will hopefully be enough for everyone.

We are providing soft drinks which I think is perfectly acceptable.

In my opinion, it’s a must. If the rehearsal dinner is hosted by you (or someone else in the family), your guests should not have to open their wallets. Just like the reception is a thank you to your guests for attending your ceremony, your rehearsal dinner is a thank you to your guests for attending the rehearsal.

Our wedding is only beer and wine so our rehearsal dinner will only be beer and wine. Our venue is BYOB so we are bringing in our own stuff. FMIL is hosting, so I believe she is making two different kinds of sangria and then also a keg or two for our 35 people rehearsal dinner.

The only thing I’d be careful of is open bar usually means people drink quite a bit which means people might not be feeling or looking their best the next morning haha! I went to a rehearsal with an open bar a little while ago and decided we won’t be doing one for this reason. I definelty didn’t drink $60 dollars (or whatever they paid per person) worth of alcohol on wedding day so it felt execessive. Paying for people’s drinks with dinner or having a limited tab is one thing but I don’t think it’s wrong to have people pay for drinks if they want to keep drinking.

I think if you can afford it it is a great idea to treat your rehearsal guests to an open bar.

We are providing beer and wine for our rehearsal dinner. The wedding will have a full open bar and a special champagne bar so we figured beer and wine was sufficient for the night before.

If you are at a place that serves alcohol, then I would if you could. We are saving money and having ours at my church, so we won't be serving any.

Our rehearsal dinner is at a restaurant. We have reserved a private room, are ordering a few appetizers and having a limited menu to choose from for dinner. Everyone will be allowed to order drinks - of their choosing. I don't foresee anyone getting wasted since drinks will have to be ordered through the waiter/waitress.

Hi Debbie! I think that offering an open bar is a nice idea if you think your guests will appreciate/utilize it! An open bar can be really helpful if you have guests with strict dietary needs such as gluten-free diets! Also, you know your guests best! If you think they may get too out of hand, then maybe resort to just offering wine and beer! It's a completely personal option and you should keep your guests in mind when making that decision! Smiley smile Where will you be having your rehearsal dinner? How many people do you plan to have?
