Rehearsal Dinner or Luncheon?

Kylee, on November 18, 2021 at 6:13 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
Hi! I need help deciding what to do for our rehearsal. The Friday before our wedding we’re doing our rehearsal as well as a welcome event at the hotel (it’s a destination wedding). We can either do a lunch or a dinner for the rehearsal meal and I honestly am stumped on what to do. We also will be doing our bachelor/ette parties the night before because it’s the only time all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen can be together to do them. So if we did a lunch or schedule would be
•12:00 Rehearsal
•1:00-3:00 Lunch •3:00-6:00 Welcome event (it’s in the same location as the rehearsal meal) •7:00-10:00 Bach night The cost for the lunch is $1,000 If we did the dinner the schedule would be •4:00 Rehearsal •5:00-7:00 Dinner •7:00-9:00 Welcome eventTotal cost is $1,400I’ve never heard of anyone doing a lunch so it makes me somewhat apprehensive and we can’t put back Bach activities because we’d be going to a show that starts a 8:00pm and we don’t want to be out too late

It seems like the lunch works best with your timeline if you want to do the show as well. I think dinners are more common just because, if the wedding is on a Saturday, the rehearsal is a Friday and dinner is easier to accommodate people's work schedules. I would do the lunch since it makes the most sense.

It seems like lunch works better for your timeline and wanting to get to your evening party so I say do lunch Smiley smile It will still be time together and it will still be after your rehearsal Smiley smile. Do what suits you the best Smiley smile

It sounds like if you did dinner, then you would have to miss most of your Welcome Event. People are coming to see you, so I would do lunch so that you can attend all of the events and your bach party/show! But, go with your gut!

I think a lunch would be great! We're personally doing a dinner because most of our guests won't land until the afternoon BUT if I were a bridesmaid in a destination wedding I think a lunch would be super fun!

Lunches are less common as they’re usually on a weekday so people are generally at work during the daytime. So, if everyone is already there already, absolutely no reason not to do a lunch! The only reason I wouldn’t is if some of the people involved weren’t able to be in town that early

Although if you do the luncheon, make sure you are able to eat dinner!
