Rehearsal Dinner Prices

I am currently looking into places to host our rehearsal dinner. The quotes I received from classic american restaurants near the host hotel range from $70 per person to $109 per person. Just curious as to if these are good rates. All feedback appreciated. Apologies if this is a duplicate post. ...

If you're doing a formal dinner with courses, that's about right.

But you don't have to do that. And in a way, it upstages the wedding.

    Do pizza, something casual.

@ the D Those prices don't include booze. I'm scared what the price will be if I add alcohol.

Thanks for all the advise ladies. I have no idea how much things like this cost so I appreciate all your input. Those prices felt a bit high to me but I wanted to make sure I wasn't tripping.

I'll continue to look for something more reasonably priced.

We will have about 30 or 32 people total at ours and it's between 30 & 40 a person. We are having it at an italian restaurant down the street from our venue. FH and I picked a set menu of 5 different courses. in Columbus Ohio

That's REALLY expensive. That's like what it costs for a wedding reception. Definitely keep looking.

ETA: Our RD was 40 people (38 adults and 2 kids). We had it in a private room in a nice restaurant. Our menu was crab dip as an appetizer, dinner was garden and caesar salads, london broil, chicken marsala, mahi-mahi, roasted red bliss potatoes, and green bean almondine, and mini cheesecakes, brownies, eclairs and cream puffs for dessert. Non-alcoholic drinks were included. Dinner was served buffet-style and cost $29/pp plus tax and tip. We had a consumption bar which cost another few hundred dollars. Total it cost less than $2,000.

We just did Italian beef and lemon chicken catered in our backyard. I would look for cheaper options

A lot of our guests staying at a nearby casino (it is really nice, overlooks the water) and we are having our rehearsal dinner at their fine dining restaurant. It is $35 pp and includes soup/salad, meat that includes a starch and veggies plus dessert. It doesn't include apps but we'll just see what sounds good to everyone and order a bunch. It also doesn't include alcohol but at least half of our rehearsal party guests barely drink so I'm hoping we won't have a huge alcohol tab but can cover the costs if it is. My wedding is on the outskirts of Seattle if that helps for comparison.

For the area, OP. I'm a fan of "you get what you pay for".

Weddings are the biggest money suck ever.

We are doing a multicourse meal with open bar.... I don't even know the cost yet.

    Eastern seaboard is fucking expensive.

I say figure out what you can afford.... Then work with that. The prices seem legit though

Just saw that you are getting married in Baltimore! Our RD was in Timonium at Michael's Cafe. If you can get outside the city just a bit for the RD, you will pay much less.

They tried to get you hunnie! You say "wedding" anything, and it seems as though the price triples!! Remember, no need to pay wedding reception prices for rehearsal dinners. Something simple and sweet will do.

We did a very nice steakhouse, private room. Limited alcohol and food menu (to cut costs). For about 22 people our tab was $4000. The food was amazing and so was the service. Totally worth it

I don't know what our pp is, it's a $2500 minimum for the room, dinner, and open bar. So if we invite more, the pp cost is less...but so far there's about 35 people coming. Sooo... $71/pp. We are getting married in NH.

We got a taco truck with rice, beans, chips and salsa bar for $13.50/pp, are getting a margarita machine (have to purchase tequila seperately), and then doing bottled water. Still going to cost about $1500 for 75 people.

Our RD was in Brooklyn at Brooklyn Winery and it was about $3500 for 28 people. This included full premium bar, passed apps and a wonderful fruit, cheese and meat spread as well as seated family style dinner with dessert and coffee. A bit of a splurge but our guests loooved it!

Seems expensive to me. Keep it simple. Save the really nice meal for the wedding.

Too high!!! I'm paying 30 bucks per person which includes 2 alcoholic beverages. Not spending extra for anyone to booze it up either. We're having about 20 people there so it will end up being about 600.00
