Rehearsal dinner question

Ana, on May 21, 2021 at 7:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Day of the rehearsal I’m giving out gifts to all the members of the wedding party, parents, coordinator and officiant... should I give Them the gifts at the rehearsal or at the dinner? My thought process is I wanted to at the dinner but I’m going to need like 3 people to carry them all and I’m sure they’ll have to be placed on the floor during dinner.. also second question, I’m writing thank you cards.. in them I wanted to mark a date on the corner for a memory (: should I put the rehearsal dinner date or the wedding date? Thank you

For the gifts, I would see if you can drop them off at the dinner venue prior to the rehearsal. This way you don't have to worry about getting them from one spot to the other and can just enjoy the moment you're in.

I would put the wedding date on the card - you're thanking them for being a part of your wedding, so I think it's appropriate to use the wedding date.

I would do it at the dinner and like PP mentioned, try to drop everything off early. See if they have a table you can use to place the gifts on. I think rehearsal would be a weird time to give out gifts. We're giving out our parents/wedding party gifts in the hotel when we get back from dinner so it's a bit more personal and everyone can just go straight back to their rooms with the gifts

I would do them at the dinner. My FH's sister did something really sweet that we plan on kind of copying from her for ours. She brought everything in and they did a little speech to each person of the bridal party and their parents. It was really nice to hear each person being recognized as a special person in their lives. If you need help bringing them in, maybe ask the restaurant if they have someone who can help or ask the groomsmen to help out!

For the date, I'd date it day of the wedding since that's the special day!

Do it at the dinner. Some couples have casual pizza delivery at the venue so they don’t go to a restaurant. Not all restaurants are currently open for indoor seating,

I completely agree that it would be best to do at dinner. Unless your gifts are HUGE and unable to easily sit next to someone on the floor while they eat. Ask the restaurant if you can bring the gifts by beforehand and drop them off or if they have any staff who could help bring the gifts inside. I used to work as a hostess at a fancy steakhouse and I could easily imagine my old boss asking me to help someone with a task like this.

I would put the rehearsal date since that is when they are being given, but really either would work. I write a lot of letters and always date them the day written (if being mailed) or the day received (if being hand-delivered).
