Rehearsal Dinner vs. Reception Dinner decorations

Blag, on May 14, 2019 at 7:54 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 10
I just received an email from the MOG regarding rehearsal dinner decorations. She wants to set the tables with a white table cloth, With either navy or sage napkins, some greenery & lanterns on the table. My only issue is that we are using the white table cloth for our wedding reception and won’t it be too similar? Shouldn’t it be different like a totally different color table cloth? We are also doing greenery on the tables

It's a white table cloth. I don't think anyone will notice or care.

White is a pretty standard color so I don’t think that would be noticed; if it was something bright or bold maybe it would be a different story

I don’t think I’ve ever attended a wedding or rehearsal dinner that didn’t use a white table cloth.

White table cloths and greenery are pretty standard. Just accent them with something different. But honestly your guests won’t notice or care about your decorations as much as you think they will. They care about free food and drinks lol

No. This doesn’t matter even a little. You could literally use the same greenery and just get 2 nights out of it, and it wouldn’t be an issue — no one will notice, no one will care, and it won’t take anything new away from your wedding day.

White is a pretty common tablecloth color, I don't think anyone will notice or care.

The tablecloths for our rehearsal dinner and reception will all be royal blue. Not as common of a color but still not an issue.

White is a traditional elegant choice. There is absolutely no reason why the two events should be the same, or be different. There is no connection. Let her plan the dinner however she will without any reference to the reception.

Thanks all! It looks like I may have overthought things at first. I appreciate your feedback and thoughts on this.
