Rehearsal Dinner - What are you doing?

For our rehearsal dinner, we will be having a real casual shrimp boil and providing beer. It will be at our venue (a barn), since we have it for the entire weekend. Our rehearsal dinner isn't so much budget based, as it is personality based. My FH and I aren't really into the formal sit down dinners, and this fits our style a lot more. Bonus: shrimp boils are EASY and affordable Smiley smile

Our rehearsal dinner was in the private loft area of the Giordano's restaurant down the street from our ceremony venue. When you have plenty of out of town guests (and plenty of Chicagoans too) you can't go wrong with deep dish pizza! Smiley winking Fancy enough that it felt like an event (private room helped) but casual enough that it didn't feel like we had to put on a show Smiley smile

I’m so glad you posted this. My mom is wanting to make it a huge affair for all our out of town guests. But I just want it to be bridal party and SO. FH thinks a rehearsal AND dinner is ridiculous. So the cheese is over here standing alone trying to figure out how to make everyone happy!

Lol....is your mom paying for the rehearsal dinner? If so, then it might be nice to let her have her way to an extent. If not, then tell her sorry, but y'all are ordering pizza and beer lol.

    I love the pizza idea!

I didn't think of doing it at the venue! It's in budget to rent ours the whole weekend, so I'll be considering that.

We dont have plans yet. If we have out of town family make the trip we will most likely go out. Whatever is easy and affordable. We wont make a big deal, but we will want to spend time with our loved ones. Casual and low-key.

We’re doing a backyard rehearsal dinner at my future sister in law’s house. Definitely getting Mexican food catered in because that’s mine & FH’s favorite food! It’ll be super casual and relaxed.

We will also have our OOT guests attending. Rehearsal dinners can get expensive, so why not go casual and low-key as much as possible.

We are doing a cookout at our venue. It is a farm with a pavilion. Burgers, hot dogs, smoked chicken, potato salad, etc. Yum!

We are doing a BBQ at the pavilion on the church grounds where we are getting married. My FH dad has been dealing with health issues so they haven't been able to be very involved in the planning and the rehearsal was one way they could help with. So they will be supplying the food and cooking on the grill. Our backup is if it rains we will order Pizza and go to the hotel closed in court yard.

We are pretty much keeping it casual. We are having our rehearsal dinner at Max's Allegheny Tavern, here in Pittsburgh. I am so excited for our wedding day!

We’re having a private buffet at one of our favorite restaurants. Pizzas, calzones, pastas, and some deserts. We’re not paying for alcohol (i don’t want anyone hungover the next day!) but they brew their own beer and it’s delicious.

We are going to a wine/beer garden and ordering pizzas. Casual but social so the wedding party (and significant others) can get to know each other in a comfortable setting.
