Also, does anyone have an budget friendly suggestions or ideas for a dinner rehearsal because we've got a HUGE wedding party. TIA!

Yes, whoever is hosting the dinner picks up the tab. If it's you, then you pay. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. It can be at any restaurant you like, or grilling up burgers in your backyard, or if you don't feel the need to rehearse, you can forgo the rehearsal all together.

The point of a rehearsal dinner is to feed the wedding party, bride and grooms family and out of town guests (optional) after the walk through for the wedding day with the bridal party. If you are not doing a walk through then you don't need to have a rehearsal dinner. Usually the parents of the groom host and pay but if no one is hosting then the bride and groom pay.

We are having it at a local restaurant in their banquet room and having it catered buffet style. It's pretty cheap. But there is a minimum person count we have to meet. You can do anything as simple as going back to your place and having a BBQ or going to a nice restaurant.

The rehearsal is for everyone to know what they're doing the day of the wedding and dinner is paid for.

Hi! We are paying for our rehearsal dinner and we are having it at a place called RockNbowl. It’s in New Orleans, and is way cheaper than a fancy dinner. It’s more laid back which is our style and they have yummy food choices. Live band starts at 9:30 so I think this will be budget friendly for us and fun for our wedding party.

No problem! This way you can also hangout with everyone and not just the people sitting next to you at dinner.

Whoever hosts the rehearsal dinner picks up the tab. Affordable options would be something DIY at someone's house with something casual like pizza or BBQ. Huge wedding parties can be expensive for sure. We have 10 GM and 9 BM (almost all have significant others). Our rehearsal dinner is costing around $3,000.

We are doing our rehearsal dinner on Thursday (2 days) before the wedding so people have time to relax the day before, mainly me. We are having dinner at BJ's restaurant and brewery, they have a group buffet menu with unlimited salad, pizza, pasta, and entrees, starting at $15/pp, children are $9 ea. This way we don't have to set up, clean up, or cook in the days before the wedding. We also opted for no alcohol, there is a bar if people wish to buy their own, they do have a no corkage fee if people want to bring their own. We are providing all the alcohol for the wedding so we figured that was enough. There is no service charge or gratuity added. We have us (2), 6 BMs, 6 GMs, 3 SOs, FG and fam(4), RB and fam (6), parents (4), out of town guests (6). I think we are looking at just under $1,000. My parents have graciously offered to pay so that is a load off our mind.

My in-laws are taking care of ours for us. It’s going to to be in the banquet room of where we are having our reception and the venue will cater it. We went with a Tex-mex theme.

Our wedding is located at an INN/House that is rented out for the weekend so We were just going to order a bunch of Chickfila for the rehearsal. Granted, its going to be a small rehearsal.

We are having our rehearsal and dinner the night before, only time we could do it. Doing the dinner at my brothers house. He has a huge house, pool, and fire pit, so we can just hang out and relax for a couple hours. We are doing roast beef sandwiches with salads and sides. Pretty cheap overall!

Can you set up some crock pots with chicken crack and do salads at home? Buy a cake or cupcakes? Add some chips and beer, sodas , waters.

Whoever is hosting picks up the tab. My dad offered to pay for it so he'll be picking up the tab. We chose a restaurant, priced it out, he gave his seal of approval, so I'll call them end of this year to reserve it!

We're just going to a local restaurant and reserving the back room! It'll probably cost us around $500 for the entire thing. We'll have about 35-40 people there I'm assuming. Around 60 people if we invite aunts/uncles and their kids.

To make it cheaper we aren't doing a meal - we'll basically be doing heavy appetizers. I know we didn't have to, but we discussed our plans with our wedding party and they agreed that they probably won't even want to eat a full meal the night before so they'd rather just do a good amount of appetizers where you can pick and choose as opposed to getting a full meal - especially since this place does very big portions for their meals haha.

If you want to do 100% budget friendly you could do a pizza + beer night at your house. Or our friends did pasta night before their wedding which was a huge hit! Both sets of parents split the cost for all of the food and her grandparents cooked it all up!

My FFIL offered to cover the rehearsal dinner as a gift, so he's obviously going to pay. We're going to have roughly 30 people at our dinner.

I believe traditionally it's the groom's parents who are responsible for the rehearsal dinner. In our case we are going to my favorite Mexican restaurant and everyone is paying their own way.
