Nefetera, on February 8, 2020 at 6:20 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 13
Hey guys my Reshareal dinner is the night before my actual wedding. This may sound insane but what's the point of rehearsal dinners??? Do you actual practice? The do's and the don'ts

Thank you

You practice at the rehearsal. The rehearsal dinner is where you provide a meal for those in attendance to thank them for taking the time to rehearse for your wedding.

If your bridal party knows what to do then you don’t have to have a rehearsal dinner.

A rehearsal helps everyone in the wedding party know where to go, where to stand, what order to go in, etc. so your not winging it the day of the wedding. It also help you get familiar with the same things (I want to practice walking down stairs). Afterwards, you have dinner with them and their spouses, parents, and a courtesy, out of town guests. It can be casual, in your home, at a restaurant-whatever works for you. Traditionally the parents of the groom pay for it.

The rehearsal dinner is a "thank you" to wedding party & family after the rehearsal.

At the rehearsal, you generally do a "dry run" of the wedding. You don't say vows or anything but you have people move in the order they are supposed to so everyone knows where to stand, who is responsible for what, and what the order of events are. They are usually pretty short and usually at the ceremony site if possible, although it doesn't have to be.

The rehearsal dinner happens after, and is you hosting the people involved in your wedding, usually immediate family and your wedding party and their SO's and then anyone who is doing a reading or other special things involved in the ceremony. Some people include kids if there are ring bearers and flower girls but some have the dinner be just the adults.
