Rehearsal Dinner

Juli, on November 18, 2019 at 3:08 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 18
Hi ladies! Quick question. My wedding is on February 29 and not sure if we should have the rehearsal on the 28th at night? Does it typically need to be the night before the wedding or can it be the weekend prior? If we were to choose the weekend prior, I don’t know if people would forget, which I doubt but not too sure lol. What do you guys think?

I’ve never seen it more than a day or two before the wedding. Mostly because you don’t want to monopolize people’s time for two weekends in a row if you can avoid it and because any out of town wedding party members usually won’t be in town a week before.

Usually it’s the evening before because the wedding party is in town already for the wedding.

Rehearsal's and rehearsal dinners are typically the night before the wedding. Everyone will already be available for your wedding the next day, so it just makes it more convenient for everyone to do it the day before.

Ours will be the night before. We're offering subs, chips and drinks at either my mom's beautiful yard or a nearby park Pavillion.

We have to do it 2 days before the wedding because of the availability of the venue, so we have given the wedding party a heads up cause almost everyone is coming in from out of town.

Our rehearsal will probably end up having to be the Thursday before our Saturday wedding instead of Friday because our venue may have another event that night.
Either way we are having a welcome party for out of town guests, immediate family in the area and our bridal party. If the reversal has to be Thursday we will just do something easy for dinner like a favorite restaurant since everyone will be working Friday morning

It should 100% be the night before so out of town guests, wedding party & family don't have to figure out another day off not on the wedding weekend.

Ours is going to be the night before! This way our out of town VIPs can join in and the wedding parties can remember where to stand

With a mostly local wedding, enough people in the area to easily drop by, rehearsals are often during the preceding 2 weeks. Many chuches will not do night-before rehearsals, if their sanctuary is in use, or the pastor is busy. Local weddings, a rehearsal may be on a weeknight, like Tues 6:30 to 7. And if there is an RD, then it is usually the weekend before or after the rehearsal, if a big affair, not attached to the rehearsal. Local people who take a 5-10 min trip to a church, spend a half hour or so, and come home, do not need to be fed. So the RD is more party like, held when WP, SO, and family members can make it.

Most rehearsals are the day before and then the dinner in the evening. i would say stick with the same weekend as the wedding because you don't want anyone forgetting what they rehearsed for the ceremony.

I researched this one and yes you can have it a week before or so depending on your preference. Mine will be the night before right after the wedding rehearsal but only for a couple of hours.
