Rehearsal invites

Do readers and ushers come to the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner? Like do we *have* to invite them?

My FILs asked for a guest list, and we did parents, grandparents, WP and SOs, and our number was at 40 (which is so large!).

But now I'm wondering, was I also supposed to include the readers and the ushers? That could potentially bring our number up to 52 with SOs (so many readings!) We haven't asked anyone yet to do these parts.

Is it bad to just not include readers/ushers at all in the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner? I was honestly under the impression that the church coordinator just met with them the day of and told them what to do because that's what my cousin did at his wedding, but I also know they ran out of money and had to severely limit the rehearsal dinner guest list.

My other concern was that it would be a random assortment of extra people added. Currently, the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner guest list are the people that we are truly closest with. We were planning to ask cousins/friends to be readers and ushers, but I'm worried it will be strange to invite some cousins, but not invite all cousins/their siblings/their parents--our aunts and uncles or invite some of our extended friend groups, but not everyone in that same circle.

Thanks!

The only people you have to invite are those who participate in the rehearsal and their SOs. So if you're not requiring readers and ushers to be there for the reception, you don't have to include them in the dinner.
